Check out the wholesale jewelry “bird branch lariat” listed on etsy… I’ve reported listing after listing, but not a single listing or seller has been removed. Most shops are resellers, some with multiple shops connected, all reselling as well.

What’s Etsy:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/89608384/silver-bird-in-a-branch-lariat
Read the description! “The ever popular bird in a branch necklace lariat ! These are all over Etsy and I couldn’t resist jumping on the bandwagon.”

Description (lol) “I’m a bird nerd, can’t you tell from my shop logo? I’ve had these little birdies sitting around just waiting for me to make them into something awesome and voila” I assume making into something = pulling 1/100 out of the box from china.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/67138308/bird-and-branch-lariat-necklace-branch?ga_search_query=lariat
There are way too many to list each one. http://www.etsy.com/search?q=bird%20branch%20lariat&order=most_relevant&view_type=gallery&ship_to=ZZ
And of course they are all made with real silver and gold. Please forgive me if these have been called out before.

I agree with you that there is way too much of this. It also seems like by carrying this stuff the sellers get more sales of their “real” handmade stuff. But then I doubt that they have made the things they could have made because they are carrying the mass produced junk. It just hurts their credibility and the credibility of Etsy. I am sure they told admin that they “assembled” the jewelry themselves.
Etsy is just too full of mass merchandised things now.
And it’s not a problem to anyone except those of us who make things and can’t get enough viewers and buyers because they all get caught up looking at the other stuff.
Variations of the ‘bird’ and the ‘branch’ have been on Etsy in some form or another for years. This is one of those fads that many people jumped on that hasn’t faded out yet.
There are 596 of them on Etsy!! Customers are really getting ripped.
This is the necklace that IrinSkye Brandi (http://www.etsy.com/shop/IrinSkye) claims she invented/designed/created.
I think the versions of this piece sold years ago were handmade by sellers using the same purchased components. The mass made version from Chinese jewelry factories is more recent. Now it is impossible to tell whether any listing for this piece was made by the seller, or not. I would guess, though, that a shop selling this lariat for years is probably still making them now.
It’s not a nice feeling – being tagged for the wrong reason.
I went to check my Etsy shop this morning seeing so many clicks and instantly I knew something unusual has happened but I did not expect this.
I don’t think it’s fair to the people who spend hours and hours crafting and enjoying themselves or trying to get their minds of stressful work but I do appreciate your opinion that it is a very old stock/trend and to be honest it has never been popular in my shop from day one.
A wake up call to me though – it’s time to take it off the shelf permanently – from my shop anyways.
This made me laugh.

And Etsy’s new trick is to make the report button a dead link. I saw a very blatant “factory” handmade item that ships directly from China–another damned bubble necklace– and wasn’t even able to report it. What a joke to think it would have even mattered had I been able…
Hey SummerLovin! You have to make your own shit. Why don’t you take off all of your other crap you are reselling? Because you ain’t spending hours and and hours of crafting. Hours and hours of perusing Alibaba and ebay maybe.
I’ve noticed that all the sold items now are dead links that return not to your shop but to Etsy. I was doing a google search on an item that already sold – all traces of the origin of the link are gone. Searching on The Find, it shows the original seller of a sold item only as Etsy. It’s time for sellers to open their own shops outside of Etsy – if they haven’t already.

)
Thanks for your honest opinion.
If I was reselling I would have had a lot more items in my shop
Here an actual reseller, posting in the Etsy forums:
http://www.etsy.com/teams/7714/ideas/discuss/10622843/page/3?show_panel=true
You are reselling because you still have items that are identical to other items on etsy, incuding the exact same photos.
I swear some of you NEED to get laid! It’s not hardly funny to see some of you so freaking bored and insulting other sellers. I know times are rough, but I bet if you get on one of those chat sites, you can get laid for free in a matter of minutes! Try it and see. It will ease all of that tension you are releasing on some innocent sellers.
Bitch, I am having sex right now. The laptop is propped up on my wife’s back while she knits socks. I guess you could call us a collective.
There is no defense– now the box is open, so watch out!
It was one of my items to start with, and now it’s my photos, is my personality the next on your blacklist LOL…
I am really respectful of most people here who are fighting for the sake of original design. For others, regardless of what you write, I know the truth and that’s good enough.
Lovely things only come from beautiful heart and souls; don’t let hatred be among you.
NEEDSUM, you forgot to call us fat and jealous you stupid reseller.
Summer, you were a blatant rule breaker. And you knew the rules. You just chose to ignore them for the sake of profit. Funny how you removed certain things because you knew you were breaking the rules. “Lovely things only come from beautiful heart and souls, and the cheap Chinese wholesaler.” Admit you are a turd so we can move on.
BeardedIris………..I’m sure you are the BITCH bent over and your wife has the computer propped up on your back while you are knitting!! I can picture it all in my head while you are screaming to the top of your lungs……….And then you wake from your little wet dream! I believe you call that a Collective dream.
“Watch that corkscrew!”

Entire shop. Shop policy is entertaining about having their designs stolen when their designs are stolen brand logos.
Its ok, NSC. I remember my first beer.
Good call Susan. Wow. Ever single item is a copyright infringement. And her designs are all over etsy with a ton of other infringers. What a clusterfuck.
Tacky intro, tacky products, and tacky tacky feedback. Nice.

Shop full of counterfeit merchandise. Nothing vintage. Seller admits in most of the listing that these bags are fake. Reported several times by several different people. I guess this is ok.
http://www.etsy.com/shop/ilovevintagebags?ref=seller_info
BreakingBad, can’t feel too bad for customers who buy counterfeit shit.
Agree with the guy who took the idea of the toilet and made it marketable. Cheap shit = cheap customers with no taste. They can have them!
I’m new here– so I don’t know what the reporting protocol is but…
This shop was featured in the Etsy Finds email today and ALL THEY SELL are mass produced goods that they will then “personalize” for you.
http://www.etsy.com/shop/paperandpolkadots
The item that was actually featured is available in my local Paper-Source RIGHT NOW.
If you go to the manufacturers website, you can see that they supply almost every major children’s retailer in the country. WTF, Etsy?
http://www.skiphop.com/storelocator/
Addendum to ask:
Is this (i.e. machine embroidering on mass produced goods) Etsy legal? I’m too afraid to ask in the forums. I don’t want to be scolded for “calling out.”
Mokie, yes — altering mass made goods with machine embroidery is Etsy legal. Etsy likes to promote personalized mass manufactured goods as “handmade”.
Unbe-stinkin-lievable! So I can buy knock off NFL, NBA jerseys for cheap cheap and ‘personalize’ them by adding a name? Oh, etsy. Shame, shame, shame.
Nothing different from the way WalMart does business– anything for a buck so the ones on the small end of the funnel can play.
A must-read: http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2012/03/11/the-robber-barons-of-silicon-valley.html
Looks like mass-produced decor to me – a “collective” perhaps? http://www.etsy.com/shop/PrimitivebyPRiti?ref=pr_shop_more Take a peek at the sold items.
Here is an online retailer selling the same Industrial Dining Table as PrimitivebyPRiti:
http://stores.homestead.com/hudsongoods/-strse-Dining-Tables/searchpath/178745445/start/9/total/17/Categories.bok
The Etsy shop gives no dimensions for the table. Both use the same photo. Etsy shop is a factory?
Another furniture merchant selling the same table in the USA:
http://www.furnitureclassicsltd.com/product/Details/72040
Yes, they are a factory. No policies page, no dimensions or materials in most of their listings. But their About page says this:
“About PrimitivebyPRiti Vintage Home
I have started my career by designing furniture from recycle items. Now we are having huge manufacturing facilities in Jodhpur, where we export 40 cntrs each month. If you want to contact direct, then call on my cellphone # +91 9929881500.”
Not anything to do with “vintage”.
And their “industrial trolly” is everywhere: http://www.etsy.com/listing/103800583/industrial-trolly http://www.thebadencompany.com/products/industrial-trolley http://www.mixfurniture.com/Furniture_Printer_Friendly.cfm?productID=1121
Here’s their military tent bag: http://www.etsy.com/listing/104039647/vintage-military-tent-cloth-bag and here: http://www.show-room.dk/shop/postes-france-army-232p.html
And their Industrial Container Sideboard http://www.etsy.com/listing/103897240/industrial-container-sideboard
On ebay – identical but different color http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Industrial-Container-Sideboard-Metal-Storage-Cupboard-TV-Unit-Furniture-HP2-/330737244884#ht_2308wt_1297

Oh dear lord.
My goodness, the above mentioned seller is a busy bee! They claim to hand make these:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/89125680/cute-little-sewed-duck-key-cellphone
But she makes each one with her heart….
It would be easier with her hands.
Someone essentially help to make severely articles I
might state. That is the first time I frequented your web

create this particular publish extraordinary. Great process!
It’s very straightforward to find out any topic on net as compared to textbooks, as I found this article at this site.
You actually make it appear so easy along with your presentation however I to find this matter to be really one thing that I feel I’d by no means understand. It sort of feels too complicated and very extensive for me. I am taking a look forward in your next submit, I will attempt to get the cling of it!
