TribalStyle

This company sells $200,000 in earrings a year on Etsy.

http://www.etsy.com/people/TribalStyle

Originally, their profile says they are a couple girls working in Ohio. In fact, this same company admits they are a corporation on Ebay, and on their website, they are a corporation looking for funding.

Check it out.

http://stores.ebay.com/Tribal-Organic-Hand-Carved-Jewelry
then check his website

http://www.coconutjewelry.com/

Now check the people in the photos. These are not their workers or artists, they have some kind of deal to get photos. In fact, most of the photos on Ebay are of the carvers wife.
They were on etsy before, but etsy made them remove the photos. There are no tribal earrings being made in Ohio. This company claims to have a warehouse in Calif?

One more thing, this company does many of the larger jewelry shows. This is an Afro American that owns the company, and brags that he got the idea to resell earrings from
traveling on holiday and selling people selling on the net while there are traveling.

So, what part of “I’m an artist does this fit into. This company should have their own callout page?

They also claim to be spreading love and light and be helping artists. Ya, they are helping them make slave labor money. Congrats for being a complete opportunist! Also, congrats to Etsy for keeping these people on Etsy for years so they can become rich! Where is the new media when you need them.

Don’t forget this show, you can go there and help this guy get more rich! Right?

http://www.lollapalooza.com/experience/green-street/

or at this show, big money at a music festival

http://www.lollapalooza.com/experience/green-street/

Don’t forget to check them out here too!

http://whatthefestival.com/marketplace/

here is what they say about themselves!

Our company is Called Coco Loco and we specialize in hand carved tribal style earrings made from organic materials. We use several types of hardwoods, coconut, bone, horn, shell, and tagua nut. All of our materials are either sustainably harvested or reclaimed and our company is certified green by Green America. We have been working directly with a group of master carvers in Indonesia for years and strive to not only sustain but better the lives of the artisans we work with. Our product is one of a kind in its quality and designs and would be a great addition to your festival.

Lets modify this. They have been reselling on Etsy for years and soaking up the money. Their product is also sold by just about everybody on Etsy. The same carvers need money to survive since they work for everybody. So, about the one of a kind part, I would have to say “Bah” to that!

What you get with this company is exploitation to over-ride real artists on Etsy. Plus they lead the pack of people re-selling earrings on etsy.

They are now being copied by another company in Ha that also orders from the same carvers and makes nothing! Look!

This is a guy that is on Ebay and has a shop in Ha. He was not doing too well on Ebay selling Fake Jade and earrings, so he decided to follow tribalstyle on Etsy. When he first arrived, he used the same photos he had on Ebay. Now he is trying to copy the look and feel of their photos to horn in on their Etsy business. He often lowballs people on prices hoping to do this. Look.

Look at his profile on Etsy.

About

Aloha to Anela’s jade

welcome to our store in Hilo , Hawaii
owned by Charles & XueMei Devine

My wife hand made many items from Jade and Pearls .

He is handmaking his items? Real jade only comes from Burma. Most of it is smuggled into China through Rulee, then cut into jewelry. I suspect he orders all his stuff from China and sells it as is.

Here he is on Ebay, and he took the name of somebody on Etsy.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/tribalshack

Or, we have to wonder if this is his second shop on Etsy? One in Ha and one in Fla?

If you go to this link here, it tells you all about anela’s jade on Ebay

Here he is today, he changed all his photos to look like tribalstyle!

http://stores.ebay.com/Anelas-Jade

SEE! He is a reseller, he has a retail store, he makes nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, why is this guy still on Etsy? He even copies the designs of Tribalstyle

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fake-gauge-Organic-White-Bone-Earrings-Split-gauge-/140803356363?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c888b6cb

If you have some spare time, you should be bashing these vendor’s. You can see that there is so much money selling these earrings on etsy that people are fighting each other tooth and nail to get a piece of it!. Meanwhile, Etsy does nothing to clean this obvious market up!!!!!!!!!!

I have a pair of the skeleton earrings he sells as fake plugs. they come from another country and what he is doing is cutting them in half and putting the pin in them to make them look like fake plugs. Mine are exactly the same but without the bar in them because mine are the full plugs. silly if he’s the one putting the bar in them he doesn’t just admit that since he is crafting them a bit but then who knows, maybe they sell them that way now too.

I feel sorry for the poor original carvers being exploited, doing all the hard work for virtually nothing, then these creeps take all the glory and the money!!
    Should be illegal!

It’s disgusting and I flat out refuse to be a part of this greed fest any more. I’ve opened a Zahoomi shop and that’s it. Zahoomi is handmade only and small enough still to police easily. The worldwide financial crisis has taught these pigs nothing.

This shop full of crappy shit has been around for years.

OK, you should try to read and understand English. You are obviously completely dumb asses!
Well Done Fashion Jewelry Co.,Ltd. This is right on your front page.

What is the problem with etsy.com? Are they in fact more stupid than you are? You belong on Alibaba.com or Ebay.com – This is where commercial companies sell this kind of stuff. Did you read in the rules that etsy.com is for artists? It is not for wholesalers, corporations, Chinese sweatshops, or people selling masses of the same merchandise over and over. Why are you not gone!!!!!!!!!!!

One more thing, Etsy should fire the idiot police they have or let me train them. Did they ever think to look back at peoples sales to see what they have been selling. Like people that start with earrings and later sell clothing. It takes years to learn to carved good earrings. It takes years to be a competent seamstress.

Read what they say about themselves on Etsy. One more bad thing about this company is they are a wholesale shop, but they want to step into the retail market, thus screwing anybody buying their crap wholesale and trying to sell it on the street. Good work. What you just did here was to admit you don’t belong on Etsy and cannot read English.

Sorry, soon your cheap labor that put up your site will go away. I bet you use the same photos every place you sell. You can to kick the can? Kick yours back to where you belong. Peddle your cheap crap that will probably fall apart in a week back to where you belong. (On some street selling to tourists) You have to be one of the dumbest startups I have seen on Etsy to date. You didn’t even try to conceal the fact you don’t belong there.

And etsy, shame on you! Soon your ratings will be completely in the toilet where they belong. And the money will slip away quickly!

  8. resellonetsy August 2, 2012 at 6:11 am #

Somebody report that fool in a callout! Chinese will try to advertise anywhere they can. Even on the outside of coffins.

  9. resellonetsy August 2, 2012 at 6:20 am #

OK, here is what is going on with this site. They have stuff they are probably trying to sell as supplies, then they decided to slip handbags, scarves, finished jewelry, and other stuff in there thinking nobody would notice and they would sell a lot. The handbags are less than $5 wholesale in volume. They may not even make all their stuff. Metal stuff is sand cast, making it very cheap to produce.

Totally offensive that they are on etsy and completely offensive that etsy let them startup with out moderation, and even more offensive if etsy let them try to prove they are handmade artists and accepted it.

  10. JustSo August 2, 2012 at 8:46 am #

What does African American have to do with Reselling? Wrong is wrong, doesn’t matter what race, but that the person has been getting away with it for so long. You do realize that the factory workers DO NOT have to accept anything from anyone. Same goes for citizens of any country. If you don’t want to work for a certain wage, you have a right to say no and move on. Just a little FYI, we don’t mind you using the word Black!

  11. JK August 2, 2012 at 9:16 am #

‘You do realize that the factory workers DO NOT have to accept anything from anyone. Same goes for citizens of any country. If you don’t want to work for a certain wage, you have a right to say no and move on.’

Yeah, not quite. A family member of mine works with people freed from sweatshop imprisonment in South Asia. You might want to investigate factory working conditions in places like China, India, Pakistan, Vietnam and Indonesia, among others, before talking about how the workers can just up and leave whenever they want; rights and freedoms aren’t really a part of the sweatshop culture.

  12. Kick The Can August 2, 2012 at 10:14 am #

By the way, I was posting a link to a reseller, and a copy-and-paste of their shop announcement. I’m not them.

  13. resellonetsy August 2, 2012 at 5:15 pm #

JustSo – point taken. Let me go over that point again. Tribalstyle, their original bio said they were a couple of girls cutting the earrings there in Ohio. Then if you look at their listings, most of them have Jewish words in the titles. The girls look kinda Jewish in the photos. So, the point was, a Black guy is running and owns the site. People have in fact met him at big shows. The marketing is quite clever for this site on etsy, and its misleading.

Most of the people working to make their goods don’t really have a choice about wages. People are severely limited in their vocational choices. Many poor countries also have a caste system working.

I did not mean to offend anybody, I was referring to the deception going on, thats all. For the amount of money they rake in, its safer than some vocations and you don’t need school for it.

JK – I have been to Cambodia, Malaysia, Nepal, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Laos. I can tell you what conditions are like in all those places. In reality, it has nothing to do with reselling on etsy. People can buy in the USA and resell also.

Kick The Can – that was a wonderful callout! You made my day! Its amazing what you can get away with on etsy. That guy has stuff about him everywhere. A great promoter for sure. Thanks again, good callout and fun to look it up!

  14. resellonetsy August 2, 2012 at 5:19 pm #

Everyonesfashion copied this shop that has been on etsy since 2008.
    http://www.etsy.com/shop/thaitee?ref=seller_info_count

    http://www.etsy.com/shop/AnyonesFashion?ref=shop_sugg

Now you know who copied who. Non the less, both of them are resellers.

The later claims to design everything. Right, he designed the same pants that were sold to hippies in the 70s, right?

  15. Kick The Can August 2, 2012 at 7:26 pm #

Pffff. The product shots are even the same. Honestly.

Thanks for posting your callouts (glad you liked mine, once you knew I wasn’t the reseller!) and for reminding us of your site. Always a good read!

  16. SSDD August 3, 2012 at 10:29 am #

“We are Fashion Jewelry and accessories Wholesalers, We Have Planty of Goods in stock and We are professional in our busiess as we have done overseas business more than 10 years. We are also reputable , as we have good feedbacks from ebay.amazon and aliexpress etc.”

I copied and pasted this into a “report this shop” post. Enough said, misspellings or not. How many others have reported it? Not reported to Etsy = not seen by Etsy.

  17. Kick The Can August 3, 2012 at 11:03 am #

    I reported it.

  18. resellonetsy August 3, 2012 at 2:11 pm #

Thanks a bunch. I think the Chinese site will go down soon, just not enough reports yet.
I will report them on etsy also. :0)

  19. SSDD August 3, 2012 at 5:48 pm #

Bet you 10:1they don’t. Have been seeing complaints about this shop for years.

  20. massproducedy August 4, 2012 at 6:26 am #

No, it will not come down. They don’t even pretend to care anymore.

  21. resellonetsy August 4, 2012 at 12:18 pm #

Give them time. Sometimes it takes a lot of time and a number or reports. Etsy don’t care as long as it is not showing them in a bad way to the public. They are in business to make money, and they have set the whole business up to allow resellers under certain circumstances.

JK – What you say is true for some, but untrue for others. Most people do have a choice, its call “work or starve”. If you are in the USA, you have almost the same choice. It is not my job to investigate human rights violations. I am only here to report people that are reselling on etsy. If you feel passionate about the topic, maybe you should get a job overseas trying to help some of these people.

  22. JK August 6, 2012 at 6:24 am #

Resellonetsy, I think you misunderstand me. I’m not supporting resellers, just pointing out that the exploited factory workers aren’t exactly getting a sweet deal if the factory owner decides to sell on Etsy.

  23. UPthePEOPLE August 6, 2012 at 10:44 am #

Companies with cheap labor couldn’t care less about the people who are on the bottom. That’s why trade unions are important, to keep The Man from exploiting their employees. As it has ever been. The GOP likes it that way, so keep it in mind,.

    http://www.etsy.com/shop/lassdress
Why are their dress listed as Supply Handmade? How is a wedding dress a supply? Why doesn’t the Etsy MIT (marketing of importer trends?) scan category bleed listings like this for resellers?

  26. ComeOnNow August 6, 2012 at 4:27 pm #

Looks like they are both from China…..?

Is Fair Trade on Etsy Fair?

I was thinking that this is still not Etsy legal.

Shop location is listed as China…ships from the US. Hmmmmm??

  29. Life During Wartime August 8, 2012 at 10:54 am #

I think the Etsy shop lassdress and Coral’s Bridal (the watermark on the Etsy shop’s photos) are the same business.
    http://www.coralsbridal.com/
    Coral’s Bridal is in China.

  30. Kick The Can August 8, 2012 at 6:41 pm #

I keep reading “lassdress” as “lardass”.

  31. resellonetsy August 9, 2012 at 3:18 am #

JK, thanks for clearing that up. Nobody gets a sweet deal if factories decide to resell on etsy. People that bought wholesale get screwed, the workers keep working for nothing, and factories can cut anybody on price.

  32. resellonetsy August 9, 2012 at 3:23 am #

    http://www.etsy.com/shop/EthnicLanna

Not only this is not etsy legal, but a lot of their bags are made in China. The pillows are a tourist item, you can buy anywhere. Its cute, but no cigar. I think they will still be on etsy years from now. They are grandma’d in.

  33. resellonetsy August 9, 2012 at 3:25 am #

    http://www.etsy.com/shop/EtsyStore

How about this? Official etsy goods made in China?

  34. resellonetsy August 12, 2012 at 11:55 am #

Etsy in fact keeps thinking of ways to protect resellers and make rules so they can have 1000s more sell on Etsy. That is where the money is at. Most of the new improvements are geared towards resellers, like listing bunches of the same item in one listing. What is that??????????? This is the modern criminal. They mislead people to believe things by joyful looking promotions. What etsy don’t realize is that it cost people that believe their rules and are hoping for a honest shake, their lives, 100s of thousands of dollars, and mental anguish. Class action lawsuits is a way to deal with it as bad press. What if people just stopped selling on etsy 2 days a week as a protest? You have to hurt them in the pocket to make changes. And you can just imagine the kind of stuff that might be going on behind closed doors at the Etsy offices!

  35. resellonetsy August 12, 2012 at 12:05 pm #

My guess is that nobody working for etsy has any “real balls”! They also make empty threats against people they don’t like. What is going to happen here is someday they will openly open up to commercial people, then act like nothing really changed, when in fact nothing did change, they just came out of the closet.

  36. william's February 6, 2013 at 9:20 pm #

Hi, i think that i saw you visited my weblog thus i
came to “return the favor”.I am attempting to find
things to enhance my web site!I suppose
its ok to use a few of your ideas!!

  37. Clare March 27, 2013 at 8:39 pm #

“This is an Afro American that owns the company, and brags that he got the idea to resell earrings from
traveling on holiday and selling people selling on the net while there are traveling.”

Well. I was enjoying this site thoroughly until that comment. What does race have to do with anything? How does the fact that he is black strengthen your argument in any way? Yeah, it doesn’t.

  38. davkadeergirl April 7, 2013 at 9:05 am #

Wow. The racism in this post is apalling. It’s bad enough that anyone Chinese is presumed guilty as chargesd, but now “Afro-American” and “Jewish Looking” are actually seriously used here? I wish bonafide sellers had a better advocate. Shame.

  39. ellysketchit January 30, 2014 at 1:10 am #

    Yay for the race card!

    1) the Chinese shop is guilty. If a shop is located in China, 99.99% their shop is going to have mass-produced items in it. I assume you’re not looking through Etsy to not see this.

    2) “what does race have to do with anything?” The man is lying to people by showcasing that two girls make the goods. He is black. They are Jewish. This does not mean any comments are racist; these are facts.
