Ugh – so frustrating. And it sells – I can see why it is tempting. Maybe we should all just start selling bootlegs out of the trunks of our cars.
And I don’t buy Etsy’s claims that they are just a venue – people have been getting direct emails with tips or ultimatums about things they should change in their listings. Come on – Etsy admin could do a search on “Twilight”, “Harry Potter” “Disney”, etc anyday and delete the items. At least TRY to make the site less of a flea market.
Callin' Out On Etsy 
This is really offensive to those of us who use our own images in everything we design. I think it cheapens Etsy and makes them look like a knock off flea market. How great Etsy would be if they would get rid of this stuff.

To me this is Just as bad as using twilight items.
So depressing. The very least Etsy could do demand proof of licensing when people are selling .pdf files of published work.
response to bookcase: She might be okay with this. She is using an actual Disney item and adding to it. Frankly, I think her whole shop is ‘different’…..but the money goes to charity.
What the Twilight sellers are doing is 100% wrong! They are selling images that they either downloaded or scanned.
yes about ro. Im sure ro has or can easily get permission anyway. I have items I create from copyrighted designs – but I have written permission. Have been flagged before and have a disclaimer posted now, and all the info for etsy staff when I get flagged, however, I am not using printed images or stealing them off the net. I am surprised how much is done on etsy and other sites as soon as a new trend starts…etsy needs a vero type program for these companies like ebay has…at least a little more policing. Not sure how well that would work…not real sure how yo uwould stop all of this w/o the company itself getting involved like how the Andy Warhol Ass. or Disney does..
RO is making money off HER name, not Disney’s, because nobody would buy that from anyone else.
