Horse Treat Pouch

What a shop name- madcowdog. That’s reassuring.

“This is not a handmade item. It is commercially made and sewn according to Jan’s design specifications.”

So not only is it commercially produced, but the description further states that “a friend designed this pouch for her personal use “. So “Jan”, the designer, is not even the shop owner. The shop owner is selling an item designed by someone else and manufactured by someone else.

    That’s called reselling.

But, on the grand scale of things, this is small potatoes. It’s one little thing, and the shop owner knows the designer personally, perhaps is selling it for her. There are much worse resellers than this on Etsy.
    Like this one:

They have wall decals from and from
They also have finished products like to-do lists, mini photo albums, NDS memory card holders, earphone earbud caps, wallets and card holders by companies like J’Story, Lamb-lamb, and Jetoy (Google them, they’re companies who make very cute mass-produced items), as well as other companies like Doma and Gongjang. They also have finished mass-produced earrings and bracelets.
These are ALL listed as Supplies, Commercial – but they are NOT supplies for crafting, they are finished non-supply products – they are resellers and flagging does NOTHING.

And to top it all off, they change listings from one thing to another. I had flagged something and bookmarked it, and when I went back it was a completely different item. That is not allowed.

Lately they have been listing proper commercial supplies like fabric and buttons, but look farther back in their store and you will see what I mean.

Just being the designer and having the items made to your specs is allowed on Etsy…Id bet tt quite a few of the clothing sellers do the designing then have sewers do the actual manufacturing…

Etsy allows you to have workers and hired help now, remember?

Brenda, this seller ISN’T the designer. She isn’t the desiner or the manufacturer, that is not allowed.

    a ‘collective’…

‘selling for a friend who lives in a cardboard box and doesn’t have access to internet’

lots of ways for people to get around the rules on Etsy…
