Boutique Italiana may have their own website but google the brand name Lilia Vanini and see how many hundreds of online sellers of this brand there are.

These are mass produced and sell worldwide.

I freaked when I saw this site-does no one on Etsy ever check on anything? I flagged several items, but then thought-why no shop flag? I know i ‘m not the first to ask-but c’mon Etsy, the time has come…march those little elf feet into the new millenium!

I flagged that shop today. Hopefully, if they get enough people to tag it, Etsy has to look at it!

I had looked at that shop a while back and wasn’t sure so I didn’t flag. But will do now!

Wow, Lilia Vanini tags right on them. Google “Lilia Vanini” and you get many pages of discount sellers. What’s with this content team? Shops like this take all of 30 seconds to figure out.

And there’s a sister shop, too? “” selling Authentic Murano Beads?

Hahaha – funny I see this here. I also flagged this 3 weeks ago. So tired of resellers not being removed in a timely fashion. UGH

  7. WGJ August 7, 2009 at 9:24 pm #

BTW – they had no sales when I flagged them. Now they have 4. So sad that happened.

  8. Regalbeads August 7, 2009 at 10:46 pm #

since I can’t get an email reply-wherever you have a link to my shop, remove it please. I have stats saying I have hits on my shop from this site, and I really don’t appreciate it. All my work is done by myself, through my blood sweat and tears, no reason whatsover for it to be on this blog

  9. Amy August 8, 2009 at 1:40 am #

regalbeads – if you spotted this through google analytics it doesnt necessarily mean there is a link on this blog to your shop. Say someone clicks on one of the links and keeps on browsing on etsy and at some point visits your shop then it may well say they arrived from this blog. Don’t panic – i havent seen anything on here that relates to your shop and no one is questioning that your items are not handmade.

Ain’t google analytics a mofo? I am suprised by the number of sellers who rush to hook it up and have no idea what it is for or even how to use it or what any of it means. I don’t know what it all means either, I am sure, although I have it. But I see some sellers say things about it that makes me think hey I am not a dumb ass after all because even I knew that.

  11. JK August 8, 2009 at 12:37 pm #

Regalbeads, like Amy said above, that isn’t how it works. Did you even search the site for your name before deciding that you were being bad-mouthed?

  12. PussDaddy August 8, 2009 at 1:49 pm #

Ol’ Regal always was a little quick on the draw.

Quick! Everyone run over to my blog then go over to Regal’s shop. That oughta drive her apeshit crazy, lol.

google analytics are almost worthless on etsy…on your own site, yes, they are hugely helpful .

    Mistagging : A bracelet? Really?

  15. toonces August 9, 2009 at 1:54 am #

In the descrip it says she used a piece of a bracelet to make the fascinator, so in that case, it does seem ok, although of course let’s face it, no one’s thinking to themselves, ‘oh let me see if I can find a fascinator that was made using part of a bracelet’. But no, not mistagging in the strictest sense of the word.

  16. Ambergris August 9, 2009 at 10:50 am #

    ah yes, my mistake. soz!

  17. forum rubbernecker August 9, 2009 at 1:48 pm #

I have nothing to but just wanted to note that William “D’OH”man and retrograndma–2 of the biggest complainers about copying issues are on the FP right now. GRRRR

  18. forum rubbernecker August 9, 2009 at 1:48 pm #

    er, “nothing to add”

  19. Bedazzled Condom August 9, 2009 at 3:27 pm #

I missed the William DOHman FP appearance.

Was it the birdhouse or sumpin else he dun stole?

  20. toonces August 9, 2009 at 5:58 pm #

It was the wooden word ‘think’ that you hang on the wall.

  21. Regalbeads August 10, 2009 at 8:40 am #

I DID search the site, however it refered to it as a direct referal link

  22. Christine August 10, 2009 at 12:59 pm #

Regal – I searched your name and found no matches on this blog… not sure why the GA is saying it’s a direct referral link.

  23. BitchenStitchen2 August 11, 2009 at 5:25 am #

Regal, if I correctly understand how GA works, if someone is on this blog, then types in the name of your shop, that would show up as a direct referral link, right?

And to be perfectly honest with you, that’s exactly what I did, after you posted your first comment. I wanted to see what you were selling. So, any direct referral links showing up after August 7th can be attributed to me being nosy.

  24. Dagnabbit August 12, 2009 at 11:16 am #

YOu are right: GA is worthless on Etsy. Nobody will find you thru a google search. All my google hits are on AF. Buyers who are already looking around Etsy might see you, but few others.

  25. Regalbeads August 12, 2009 at 9:29 pm #

I actually get a lot of traffic straight from google searches…and got none from artfire…

  26. Suz August 16, 2009 at 7:08 am #

    toonces Says:
In the descrip it says she used a piece of a bracelet to make the fascinator, so in that case, it does seem ok. . . But no, not mistagging in the strictest sense of the word.
So then “bracelet” should be listed under Materials (if at all). Let’s face it, that piece isn’t a bracelet and you wouldn’t expect to see it if you were searching for one.

Hello Dear People: this is Boutiqueitaliana and I am here to clarify some of the coments that I found recently on this blog, first of all I would like to invite to any person who has or can has a doubt about my work to contact me directly, I will be happy to answer any questions, I think is not good to express an idea behind the person, today by casualty I found this coments that’s the reason I would like to clarify, I started with my handbags idea on 2007, since that time I sold a lot of handbags and I provide my work to a popular website in USA, that’s the reason my name is easy found on some search sites and in general on the internet, I didn’t know that this is a mistake or can be an offense to the etsy comunity, I just doing my sales in other ways as everyone try to do when start a project. Beside that my work is totally made by me, here where I live, in Venice Italy, I am not only do this, I am a person totally passionate for everything that can be handmade, I am always learning and reading, so you very soon will find more of my creations that can be from murano glass to knitting shoes with decorations, to decorative soaps to wood pendants, every project is started with enthusiasm and love.

To all the people my best whishes and

    Your ebay shop states this

‘Lilia Vanini Handbags are 100% Manufactured in Italy where the accumulated expertise of the crafsmen will guarantee you long-lasting quality of all Lilia Vanini Handbags and Accessories’

This doesn’t suggest that YOU personally make these handbags. Perhaps you are a collective but with all those craftsmen you might be stretching it a bit too far.

  29. boutiqueitaliana August 17, 2009 at 2:13 pm #

Amy, I describe the manufacture like this because on my presentation on ebay is not necessary to clarify that I made my items, is a general presentation, please understand, if you want me to send you the pictures of my studio, work place and sewing machines I will be happy to do it or if you want me to describe the entire process to make the bag I also will be happy to do it
    Thank you

  30. Kirsi August 18, 2009 at 6:06 am #

As long as you’re here, Lilia, maybe you could tell us why the main page at your site is titled “Burberry handbags”? It’s something that makes ME question your credibility. No-one is questioning your ability to make bags, just the amount that seems to be for sale all over the web.

  31. boutiqueitaliana August 18, 2009 at 6:50 am #

Hello Kirsi: the website boutiqueitaliana will be close this august 31 and will be under construction for a while, because I am renewing the image of the site, when I started with this site (2005) I was in asociation with a hugh website in New York that sells Burberry, that’s the reason that still I have the link from that tags but as you can see I don’t sell this brand items, as for the question about the amount of handbags that I sell, all that you see on the internet is just an order that I made for this website last year in september, so almost one year ago, they still have bags on inventory and they have all kind of link to the major search engines and other sites, so that’s the reason my name pop up fast when is search on the internet, as for my side I just have, as I mention before, 4 or 5 bags per model because I like to be ready when a client order something, right now I am working also in other ideas that you will see probabily by the end of the year, ok that’s all, I hope that I answer all the questions and please contact me if you have other questions, no problem, I am looking to start my blog but I don’t have time, not even for my husband, I hope that by the next month I can do something about the blog
    Thank you
