This girl goodluckelle decides to respond to the comment “You have a wide variety of things! Is this all handmade by you goodluckelle? If so, that’s impressive!” with

“Oh they are not handmade by me but my supplier workshop! Thank you :-)”

in her own thread that she started. Wow. Gobsmacked.

If you want yet another laugh take a look at her shop and read her shop announcement.

Speaking of a lengthy re-opening, unfortunately regs123 is back open again. Boo.

To clear up some things-
to the people that keep emailing me because they see links in their google analytics it DOES NOT mean that you have been linked here. Do a search for yourself. If you don’t find anything then you are not here. GA are very inaccurate. Please stop the freak out’s. Thank you.

That was sporting of her to save us all the trouble and just call herself out. I wish more resellers were as generous!

There was another self-call-out by beograund – their thread was closed, after which they started another thread… They didn’t admit to the reselling part, which I assume is the reason their shop is still open. They have a website, mentioned in all the listings, where they sell the same stuff, too.

regs123 has a Tinkerbell drawing listed now, did she have Disney traces before?

“callin out on etsy” showed up on my g.a. a while ago. i simply stopped by to see if i was anywhere on here, and was pleased to find that i wasn’t. πŸ™‚ i was even more pleased to run across this blog that i now read everyday. πŸ™‚

g.a. picks up a lot of wacky stuff.

Well the elle has taken all her stuff out and is “reorganizing”.
“My watercolor illustrations are inspired by the original works and creations of E. H. Shepard.” Since when does COPYING mean “inspired by”? If she can draw so well, she would be doing original work. She’s copying– anybody can do it with a little technological help. EVIL.

I think we all better accept that Etsy is not run by people that value integrity and honesty. They value money, and any promises that items featured there will be handmade, vintage, or original had best be viewed with at least skepticsm, if not outright disbelief. The target audience for Etsy, for both buyers and sellers, is people that are breathing, and have money to spend to buy or sell. Those are their only true criteria for those using the site. Lying is perectly acceptable, and the admins and staff of Etsy are only too willing to compromise to any length to get do re mi.
The long term health of all of us would be improved if we could just accept that the world will always have cheaters, and some of them start their own “handmade” web sites.
Frankly, Etsy can run their own business any way they see fit, and those who don’t like it can bugger off. It really does the handcraft movemnet no good though, to see what is being done in the name of handmade items on Etsy. It cheapens and destroys real art and craft, because peole come to associate “handmade” and “Craft” with the type of bullshit that is tolerated on Etsy.

Ghost, you wrote what I feel.

Etsy is not an ‘evil empire’. It’s just a typical business that uses hype to play with the heads of its community members to enrich itself.

When Etsy was new and much smaller, the ratio of quality to crap made the site look like the hype was straight talk. I’m not sure it ever was.

There are still thousands of fantastic artists and artisans on Etsy. The problem as I see it is that Etsy more than tolerates the BS. Etsy is actively promoting it. The shop which is the subject of this post is owned by an MBA student, and she got the message Etsy is sending very clearly. It’s possible she viewed and recognized mass produced products in Etsy shops that went right by most of the community.

    regs123 is illegal.

The pics are copyrighted to the Executors of the EH Shepard estate. This includes derivatives, although hers are just blatant copies, not derivatives.

meh, that thread was priceless, and I was glad I got to mark myself in it. What a friggin’ moron that woman is.

Her other thread “I haven’t got any hearts in a while, boo fucking hoo” Was just as good.

lol @ people thinking they got called out on here just cuz they see this blog’s link in their GA. Just like how some people see the link to the “crazy lady” in their GA and assume she’s onto them.

that shop is still there, but has an announcement telling people to shop at her website. ( “fee avoidance”?) It should have been closed, but all the items are gone with this shop announcement:
