Reseller CallOut- funkyshique

22 Sep

funkyshique is selling the hugely popular figurines by Demdaco. The figures have stickers on the bottom that say “Made in China”. (I know because I own some)

I bet an analysis of the listings on Etsy would show that the majority of items are either reseller products or barely altered cheap stuff (like cheap pendants stuck on a cord).

Seller knows and does not care as long as she sells.

Wow, she must work very fast. I can buy her little sculpture at 20 shops just in my local area…

And two sculls for $6 – amazing. She did glue a paper rose to each though…

She does not get it. This is now her description for that piece:

    “Description
This item was featured in “etsycallout.blogspot.com”
This blog was created by a woman who obviously has no life what-so-ever, and “lives” to tell the public about people here on etsy who ‘wrongfully list’ items with intentions of selling item on a ‘resale’ basis. To clear this up, Im nota person whol collects things such as this. I didnt know that it was sold as a collectors item at Hallmark. I bought this from an estatesale, simply because it depics ‘love’, which is what we all need more of, instead of these old woman who think they ‘got somethin’ by starting a BLOG such as this ‘etsycallout.blogspot.com’ to spread the word about people who try to make a living in this bad economy.
Gorgeous statue of two people, obviously very in love. What a romantic piece to display in your home, your office, or how about on top of a wedding cake? This would also make a lovely anniversary gift, wedding gift, or as a house warming gift! Give it, or keep it for yourself! The word “TOGETHER’ is carved into the side, and has a date of 2000. This lovely statue stands about 12 inches tall!

    Love is in the air!

NOTICE IT STILL IS TAGGED HANDMADE!! She needs the money, so we should all feel sorry for her and leave her alone to break rules and make the site look even shittier. Nice going, Crazy Lady.

Did anyone even say anything about Hallmark? Funny how she knew that. My husband even knew what that was.. come on.

Her sweet little friend (you can find her through the other etsycallout) actually deleted my post from her blog 0_0 All I did was state some facts, no foul language or anything… I was waiting for an attack on my blog, but I guess she has at least a tiny bit of sense in her (which is a small relief).

This is what I wanted to comment on that blog of her buddy’s, but she doesn’t take comments.

“I have nothing to do with Etsy Callout, other than reading it. Please remove any reference to me or my work.
The few pieces of clothing I list on Etsy are dyed and painted by me: not labeled vintage, but appropriately labeled hand made. I follow the Terms of Use, and take personal insult at what you have said.
Remove me immediately, as these are unfounded, malicious lies.”

I emailed funky and asked her, politely, if she carved the statue– a question any potential customer might ask. Her response to me was, “Mind your own business, Bitch”. That is the extent of the “harassment” she apparently thinks I have been foisting on her. Anybody that reacts to a normal question like that either has something to hide or is over the edge.
Her “friend” apparently doesn’t even look at shops that she slams. The mentality of this whole thing is whack. Perhaps I should take the attitude that it’s advertising for me………but somehow I can’t seem to see it that way.

i saw that post morgansilk. and it made me laugh, because anyone who has seen you post on the forums and is aware that you understand, and follow the t.o.u. 🙂

i laughed a bit harder when i saw the paragraph asking readers to compare the two slips. i knew immediately which one was electricbluebirds, because like many people, i have purchased from her before, and recognize her photos.

there is a huge difference between calling out shops who blatently violate the t.o.u., and call out based on ludicrous speculation (by someone who clearly doesn’t investigate her claims) with the intent to hurt ones business.

your shop name and photo (along with electricbluebirds) should certainly be removed.

Meh, you made me feel better. I am going to keep myself from giving any thought to this any more, thanks to you.

Etsy creates so much drama by not taking flagging seriously. The honest confusion, apathy, plus the mass sellers who apparently think that rules are for fools cause the drama– not the people who are affected by it.
The site hasn’t taken flagging seriously since the site got so big that it would mean investing $$ in personnel who communicate effectively to actually make the system function.

The entire idea of integrity is down the tubes; staff make the same “errors” by not vetting items they feature. It’s hard to feel positive about a venue that doesn’t seem to respect itself.
    three words: My Own Website.

Morgan, you are so stupid to think that i have forgotten about you. You are my next target because i will be calling you out.

YOU ARE A RESELLER OF SHIRTS AND SCARVES!

  11. meh September 26, 2009 at 10:47 am #

    monkey…i don’t even know why i’m responding.

morgan is completely within the tou of etsy. she hand dyes those items.

Monkeyshit you are a monkey’s ass. Everyone knows that morgansilk and I are not exactly bosom buddies, but one thing she isn’t is a fricking reseller and she does do her own work. Stop trying to ruin people’s businesses just because your own sucks and lacks authenticity and talent.

It’s old now, her shop is POOF, but I have to say I saw these things at Ben Franklin today and blanched.

    Whoa.

Why did her whole shop disappear? Were the banners not handmade either?
