I’m so tired of all of this. Not vintage. Not handmade. Seriously.

I swear I’ve seen this at Michaels! -eco

It’s too bad they did this. I just looked at all of their items and I found a couple of things I love. I REFUSE to buy anything from a scumbag RESELLER!!!!!

Don’t forget to report this not handmade, not vintage either

  5. Jenn October 23, 2009 at 11:44 am #

Oh yeah, she’s ‘Brazen’ all right.

Happily flagged, but don’t know what good it’ll do.

As Jenn said, I have no idea what good it will do to flag this stuff. I mean, really. She’s got pendants listed as jewelry (as if that category needs to be clogged up more), brand new “vintage” items, and stuff she bought cheap on ebay. I continually question why I stay and attempt to sell on Etsy. It’s a losing battle. No one cares. They (Admin) pay lip-service to the whole “no resellers” thing, but that’s as far as it goes.

    Willow tree again?

It’s all about the “all mighty dollar”!

  9. Seriously October 23, 2009 at 1:25 pm #

And she sold the non-vintage owl necklace. Some sucker just forked over $24.95 when they could have bid on it on E-bay starting at .99 cents. Yay Etsy. You win the prize!

    Another takedown by ECO!
You oughta charge those Etsy folks for services.

Wow! That was freaking fast! Don’t give us hope Etsy.

  12. imwithya October 23, 2009 at 2:30 pm #

Hell, I thought maybe they would’ve gotten rid of Svetlana by now but I just checked and she is still open… even though Etsy was sent links to the the Ebay seller she buys her jewelry from at 1/3 the price where they are listed as made in Thailand. grrr

Find this in the center isle of Ben Franklin. CHEESY and mass-produced. Again/

She’s sold 2 of the ‘vintage’ owl pendant necklaces, and has it relisted again in her shop. You can buy it on Amazon for $16.99.

She has it listed in a handmade category (jewelry) now.

Etsy — Your place to buy and sell fake vintage and factory assembled handmade.

OT – Oh crap! I need to change my name here.

    Hi Seriously

    Nice to meet you.

On another note, isn’t this the same brand of knick knack, whatever, that someone else was busted selling not too long ago?

Everyone’s getting their money (ETSY) so nobody cares.

  20. Life During Wartime October 24, 2009 at 10:32 am #

The third owl pendant sold today. Looks like shoppers who want one now will have to buy one on Ebay for $.99 directly from China.

  21. Max October 24, 2009 at 5:32 pm #

At least her name is appropriate. She is BRAZEN.

  22. Wolf October 25, 2009 at 8:35 pm #

That Owl pemdant in the very first comment?

I have that EXACT pendant, in brass and I know for a fact mine IS vintage.

That one looks like a remake compared to mine.

  23. Life During Wartime October 26, 2009 at 8:29 am #

Wolf, the reproducers also make the fake pendant in a brass/goldtone and with a variety of eye colors. Just from looking at the first listing of the piece I thought the owl was vintage (I’ve sold a few articulated large owl pendants on a chain that were from the 70s). But when there were multiples relisted — without any mention of buying out dead stock– I surfed the net for similar items and found the repros all over the place. There are ‘vintage’ repros/fakes on Etsy: decor, jewelry, housewares, clothing.

Her pictures are straight off ebay listings for the owl (from a HK seller) and for the pendants she is selling as handmade.

Lol, “this is unique”…but “sells for $60 on other websites”?
Great site by the way, have wasted most of the afternoon reading it and I’m hooked on it! 🙂
