More resellers on a handmade site, just like this one… http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=8017626
    who must purchase from…

OH and they list them as handmade by them in their studio in Turku and are shipped from CHINA!

Wow, and the dogs and pigs – several shops selling the same mass produced item.

Looks like gogohandmade and violetgiftshop are the same shop – same products, same way of putting their shopname in their Location, the listings have the same odd characters, and the Welcome in their Shop Policies is identical.

    That makes me puke!

So sad to see this crap on etsy….

Can you tell me, wasn’t Fonth a reseller? It looks like they opened another shop. http://fonthstudio.etsy.com

  5. Nobody Understands My Pain Either October 25, 2009 at 2:22 am #

Fonth was definitely a reseller. They had their address on their off etsy site and when I googled it, it showed up the same as j.dream and a wholesale business. J.Dream is still on Etsy, though and now they even list their ebay store where they admit to being a wholesaler.

I’m slightly encouraged by the fact that Fonth finally got busted…although their new store offers to direct you to their catalog, and they’re still reselling. They also have a link to their blog, where you can see pictures of “Fonth” in her “studio” working on her jewelry.

Resellers are getting smarter and smarter…

Speaking of wtf. This was on an admin curated FP. “Inspired by a fairytale romance”

Uhhhh, she even admits in the description that she originally purchased for 3400 bucks, and wasn’t made by her. LAME! Good job yet again, admins. Good job.

This is why flagging does nothing.

I like the materials : “pp.”

I can’t tell you how fond I am of craft items done in “pp.”

    Friggin’ goddam resellers.

  8. dagnabbit October 26, 2009 at 4:40 am #

Admins do not vet the items they feature> Why bother? If anyone calls them on it, they can eliminate the caller outer. They can do whatever they want, and seem to be eager to flaunt this fact.
Some of the admin apparently haven’t even bothered to read the site’s TOU.
Too cool for school. FAIL = FIRED I wish.

Maria is no better than the clowns who were ‘running’ the place before she came along.

Wasn’t she supposed to be experienced and professional? She’s certainly not leading in that direction.

I’m not even a seller and etsy’s immaturity and unprofessionalism ticks me off; I can’t imagine how sellers feel about it.

Came across this shop, screaming reseller:

  11. Kirsi October 26, 2009 at 11:03 am #

Macro satan? 😀 No comments on the reseller question from me, though.
“Looks like gogohandmade and violetgiftshop are the same shop – same products, same way of putting their shopname in their Location, the listings have the same odd characters, and the Welcome in their Shop Policies is identical.”

    gogohandmade is also called Violet…
“I’m not even a seller and etsy’s immaturity and unprofessionalism ticks me off; I can’t imagine how sellers feel about it.”

You don’t say? I once dreamt of opening a shop at Etsy, but for months it has been clear that I won’t be handing them any money unless there happens some drastic changes. I feel sorry for those who have invested a lot on Etsy, but are not yet successful enough to leave and start on their own/on another venue.

    Anyone read Macrosatin’s descriptions?

“If you are a fashion people don’t hesitate to grab it!!
Look this fantastic dress, it will make you looks like a princess. It’s cute and fashion, very good dress for cold winter. Made by 30% wool, 70% Poly-acrylic.
If you like it just grab it, don’t allow anyone else loot it from you.”

And here I’ve always thought Aussies speak English. Who’da thought they’d need Google translator.

Same person, two brand new knockoffs she’s calling “handmade”. Lame, and her shop is full of not made by her, mass produced crap. Like tommy hilfiger earrings, seriously?

  15. Gern Blanston October 27, 2009 at 4:49 am #

    Brand new reseller:

  16. pussdaddyblogs October 27, 2009 at 6:13 am #

I saw those and thought they were cute but I don’t have an MP3 anyway. They have to be reseller crap if so many have them listed for sale.

  17. Lu October 27, 2009 at 12:29 pm #

I thought hello kitty wasn’t allowed on etsy?
    flagged many times already

  18. MadeByM**** October 27, 2009 at 1:11 pm #

They bought the Hello Kitty Charm as a supply and added it to a chain, hence hand-made/hand-altered/hand-assembled. Passes for Etsy!

  20. CMOM October 28, 2009 at 4:13 am #

Materials listed – charm and “love”. How sweet. lol

  21. spare time October 29, 2009 at 10:42 am #

macrosatan was also on admin curated front page:

I remembered because I’ve been desperately searching for a winter coat and so clicked on it. The descriptions were super fishy to me, too.
It bothers me since there are really so many talented people making some amazing coats (out of my price range, but still) and instead they put a reseller on the fp.
