From the Inbox:

Check her out! She has 430+ sales with these mass produced items. Oi!!
She has 7 pages of items, I know that at least 6 of the 7 pages are mass produced. I have the item below and a few others in her etsy shoppe in my b&m. (Etsy Shoppe). &plat=BO&cate_code=10829 ( my wholesaler’s shoppe)

It is the same exact picture. There are no extra pictures posted from different angles! This woman has had it good!!! Easy Peasy!!! Order, take the plastic bag off, put in gift bag, and ship, no pic taking or anything!

Thanks for letting me vent!

check out what was on the front page in the gift guides.

    Etsy stuck disneys snowwhite in.
    Way to go Etsy!!
They not only don’t remove copyrighted works but now promote them.

    A) Reporting that jewelry seller.

    B) Ugh. Disney items in the gift guide… really Etsy? Nice job. Plus that laptop skin seller spells VINYL wrong in every one of their listings. Way to copy/paste without checking the spelling. I wonder if they even make those.

Another seller- has sold a bunch of the same Snow White skins, plus Twilight but doesn’t seem to list them anymore.

You know what would be a cool addition to this blog? Links for Disney, etc. where people can report copyright violations. Since Etsy won’t do a damn thing about it. Somewhere over there on the right 🙂 >>>>>>>>>>>

Well, awood616 just chose an opportune time to go into vacation mode.

And just plain fuck. Snow White mass produced crap in the Gift Guides?

    Etsy admins just suck.

    Nice. Yuk!

Wouldn’t it be nice if Etsy would require all shop owners to prove that their items are handmade? I have seen craft show applications that ask for a DVD of you actually making your items. Even if Etsy only required the DVD of you making your items IF you get called out by someone else. They could say “Hey, want to keep your shop open? Mail us a DVD of you making that stuff and we’ll back off!”

Boy, I’m seriously having doubts that I will continue to stay with Etsy after the new year……………

I’ve flagged Awood616 multiple times. I included links to several wholesale suppliers that had identical items, with identical pictures. Some of her necklaces were from the store Chicos, some from firemountaingems, some from ebay….from everywhere but her own hands. She also lists the exact same items on her Artfire store and on her regular website at On she even has the wholesale codes listed with her product.

I think she goes into vacation mode every time she gets flagged – that way she doesn’t have any product up for admin to look at.

And she has an ebay store:

“Hello. I am selling some of my things around my home. I am also selling my friends’ and family members’ things so please take a look around and see if you like anything. We have lowered the prices on some of our items.”

Can’t they look at her sold items?

The items in allaround are just thrown into categories, and it’s pretty obvious their inventory is resale from Asia. It’s pretty stuff, but not for Etsy. Etsy admin has done such a good job pushing their ‘trends’ and featuring resale shops that new sellers don’t see any difference between Etsy and Ebay.

Having a DVD of yourself creating seems like overkill for a site like Etsy. Most of the resellers are darn obvious like Awood616. Anyone who even dabbles in handmaking jewelry would think at first glance RESELLER looking at the photo above. And they would think that again and again looking at the whole shop — the types of items + prices + stock photos = ?????

I hope the Etsy admin girls are bookmarking all the wholesale sites ECO and the commentors are thoughtfully providing them.

Rather than collecting a huge library of crafters’ DVDs, Etsy needs to have login codes at every reseller site they can find, so they can spend their time educating themselves, and reviewing suspect shops rather than watching legit artisans do their thing. Just my opinion.

Sickening! I have spent a fortune on a copyright lawyer to ensure that my art pieces (celebrity quotes, song titles, maps, etc.) can be sold. These shops are so freakin obvious.

imwithya…I would laugh my way all the way to the lawyer’s if we could report them straight from here. You are brilliant.
