Faux In Every Way

From the Inbox-

I am holding out over here from posting great jewelry that is marked
’90 in tiny tiny letters…This seller thinks its ok to broadcast it.
At least she admits its a fake Hermes.

Etsy has reached a point where the modus operandi consists of “who cares?” and “who’s going to stop me?”

It’s a trifecta of designer fake, non-vintage, and ugly!

I was laughing earlier this afternoon at a forums post with a bunch of links to help the buyer and seller ‘identify vintage’. One topic that was sorely lacking in links was fakes and reproductions, how to spot them and examples of known faux items.

The vintage community on Etsy has its collective head in the sand (or some location that limits clear vision) about the abundance of faux on the site.

    Good for ECO.

Where is the jewelry marked ’90, since it was mentioned?

The fact that it’s fake is worse than it not being vintage. Yikes!

    It’s gone! Thank you callout!
