This reseller has a large amount of “nail stickers” from Japan that are (hilariously) tagged under bath and body.
Nail stickers are by no stretch of the imagination supplies (which they aren’t even listed as, here- they’re in the handmade category).
I’m really, REALLY sick of Japanese sticker resellers, especially the ones who list them as “handmade” and “art”. They aren’t handmade, they aren’t art, and they are NOT SUPPLIES!

    Flagged, just for the exercise.

Again, I don’t know anything about card making or crochet…but I am not convinced that anything in this shop is made by the seller. How can the person who made those detailed cards with their own hands sell them for less than 2 bucks — and some were sold with free shipping? Even a mass-produced card with that kind of detail sells for more than that.

I just flagged the nail deco. There are so many of these crap reseller shops that it really feels like an insurmountable problem to get rid of all of them.

And we all know that flagging is a meaningless activity, although it sometimes feels good to send a little message to the admins all in capital letters, even tho they care less.

  4. Wha? January 9, 2010 at 6:04 pm #

What about this? http://www.etsy.com/shop/MeMeCraftwork I’m not sure how the watermarks match the shop..

I BET YOU DID! YOU LAZY ASS!! I bet you spend 14 hours a day going through ETSY finding RESELLERS. YOUR ASS must be as big as a BARN DOOR!! Due to your ONLY Exercise is “Clicking”on a mouse….ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Wha? January 9, 2010 at 6:51 pm #

    Sandra..

um I think you are on here more than anyone else. so…? you are crazy right?

  8. Wha? January 9, 2010 at 6:51 pm #

btw you don’t happen to live in Waco do you?

  9. Smartass January 9, 2010 at 7:18 pm #

Hmm, why do some people wait on this site all day just to flame other people who happen to post at this site. Seems a bit hypocritical… hmmm?

Perhaps you, dear Sandra, should get up off *your* fat lazy ass, and maybe try exercising your seldom-used ability to walk away from what clearly displeases you, instead of sitting on here 14 hours a day waiting to pounce all over some other fat-ass.

We don’t need another fat-ass orgy in here, after all. ;p

MY GUESS IS THAT “SANDRA” LIVES IN NORTH CAROLINA!!!!

  11. Nobody Understands My Pain Either January 9, 2010 at 9:11 pm #

I actually spend 16 hours a day flagging resellers. I’m a bit of an overachiever.

  12. Marco's Mom January 9, 2010 at 9:25 pm #

How are they not supplies? They’re stickers. I know lots of paper crafters who make inchies who love to use the nail stickers because they’re so small.

  13. etsycallout January 9, 2010 at 9:30 pm #

Glendale, Arizona is where Sandra’s IP points to

  14. Catish January 9, 2010 at 11:03 pm #

Marco’s Mom, they been tagged ‘handmade’. Explain to me how they are handmade. ‘Art’ I understand to some point (when they are on your nails sure they are art), but handmade ?

  15. Catish January 9, 2010 at 11:05 pm #

Looks like a few tags been fixed at least… back to checking.

  16. HappySnapperPenguins January 10, 2010 at 5:59 am #

And they have 160 sales. Just goes to show what really sells on Etsy. Don’t know why I bother working so hard on my handmade when I could just buy out the Dollar General and resell it on Etsy.

  17. Charity January 10, 2010 at 6:07 am #

I am super new to Etsy, so how come the nail stickers aren’t considered supplies? Larger stickers can be, right? Maybe I need to explore the rules more?

Hmmm, isn’t that where the crazy reseller chick was from? What was her store name? She was called out here (I think) and she sold crap that was obviously not handmade – she was shut down on etsy and screamed crazy stuff all over the forums…
Dang, I can’t remember the shop name – something like MybeautifulRomance?

    Anyone? Buehler?

  19. JajieBo January 10, 2010 at 9:37 am #

Commercial stickers can’t be sold as supplies, no matter what size they are.

From the Etsy Do’s and Don’ts:

“A commercial crafting supply is not a commercial item that, although it may be used in crafting, is ready to use as is (for example: mass-produced clothing, dollhouse furniture and clothing).”

This includes stickers, as any admin wil be happy to tell you-once they return from whatever super-hip party they happen to be attending at this moment.

Handmade stickers can be sold, but not commercial.

Mytrueloveboutique! That’s it. Wasn’t she in Arizona, just like Crazy Sandra upthread?

  21. ComradeBunny January 10, 2010 at 10:06 am #

Does the rule for stickers apply to destash? I’ve been weeding out some of the supplies in my studio and I planned to sell them as destash. Can I do that?

  22. notvintage January 10, 2010 at 12:16 pm #

My understanding is that destash is for supplies for use by artists and craftspeople as supplies. Not for whatever you want to dump.

  23. JajieBo January 10, 2010 at 1:13 pm #

Ohhh, the trueloveboutique trainwreck! That was top-notch entertainment!

  24. Life During Wartime January 10, 2010 at 1:31 pm #

Truelove was the one that had a YouTube video, right? Sheesh. Sandra, just go over to Etsy Bitch and get the code for a discount on SilkFair. That site allows you to sell ANYTHING and call it handmade, vintage, the crown jewels or the national debt. Perfect.

  25. Charity January 10, 2010 at 1:35 pm #

thanks JajieBo for the clarification! 🙂

  26. Marco's Mom January 10, 2010 at 1:52 pm #

yeah, I had no idea you couldn’t sell stickers as supplies. I only use stickers as a craft supply, totally forgot that kids use them to just . . . stick on stuff. My bad!

  27. JajieBo January 10, 2010 at 2:50 pm #

    No prob! : )
I think commercially-made stickers were allowed on Etsy previously (or maybe they weren’t exactly allowed, but they weren’t specifically addressed or something), so a few shops may still be unaware of the rule.

  28. Em January 10, 2010 at 4:14 pm #

This is up on the FP right now. It’s cute and all, but the seller is quite clear that it wasn’t handmade by herself.

    http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=37570264&ref=fp_feat_5

Seriously, Etsy? This almost makes me want to contribute to the rash of call-out threads that have been appearing lately.

  29. ugh January 10, 2010 at 4:23 pm #

This shop ( turninto) was just on the Etsy FP as one of their “pounce your way to fresh finds” themes – I was very surprised to see this item in there as I recognised imyourpresent ‘s pic immediately! How do Etsy staff not recognise these things? or read the listing where the seller openly says they’re reselling an etsy seller’s work?? Ugh.

    I remember MYTRUELOVEBOUTIQUE.

She was a whackob of Ulja proportions.

Old Etsy whackjobs never die. They just COME BACK AS ALL CAP SCREAMERS.

  31. JajieBo January 11, 2010 at 8:05 am #

ALL CAPS unless their high-school helpers are around.

    Yes, I’m a meanie.

  32. ComradeBunny January 11, 2010 at 2:26 pm #

“My understanding is that destash is for supplies for use by artists and craftspeople as supplies. Not for whatever you want to dump.”

But I use stickers on some of my cards. The ones I want to destash are stickers I got in a lot. They are ones that just don’t fit my personality. I’m sure another card maker/scrapbooker could use them. They are quality items, not dollar store junk.

I have another question. Would the label reseller fit all of the people who buy a $20 pad of paper from DCWV, separate them into lots and sell them (sometimes the cut the paper down into 6′”x 6″ pieces)? If that’s okay, I don’t know why I couldn’t destash another supply.

  33. wacky January 11, 2010 at 10:17 pm #

If you guys have questions about what is Etsy-legal to sell, why don’t you go THERE and ask, or better yet, ask an admin. They will tell you whether they are allowed or not.

  34. notvintage January 12, 2010 at 2:40 am #

Those stickers are for fingernails, no??

(Right, ask an admin. They’ll tell you, but it depends upon WHICH ONE YOU ASK, because their answers differ! That plus they have staff that don’t understand the basic TOUs as it is)

  35. wacky January 12, 2010 at 8:50 am #

I totally agree that the nail stickers shouldn’t be allowed. BUT, I think things like Jolees, and the stickers that people use for scrapbooking and card making do fall under the TOU of crafting supplies. What are they for if it’s not for crafting? I was just saying, instead of arguing here, that you should ask on Etsy b/c it doesn’t make any sense to speculate here. That’s exactly why there is so much mis-tagging. People see others doing it and they do what they see others doing.
I refuse to make a comment on the issue of what admin are telling other Etsians.

  36. Sandra January 15, 2010 at 4:15 pm #

idiots. I’m NOT that person at all………whoever that maybe.

  37. Barbara January 15, 2010 at 5:07 pm #

I even sent abuse@ etsy a shame on you letter for letting this shop exist.

  38. UnaBee February 5, 2010 at 1:02 am #

shop has zero items for sale…..hooray!
