Moda Fabrics

The seller is listing them in the handmade housewares category. When these tablecloths don’t belong on Etsy anywhere.

Site for Moda:

To open a reseller account with them you have to agree to make a minimum $750.00 purchase! Their items are all over the web on ‘country’ gift sites. Moda is one of the links that Etsy staff should have bookmarked. I’m pretty sure if someone has the time to search, a pretty good selection of Moda products are listed on Etsy right now. The tablecloths in the Etsy shop are found in the kitchen products category on Moda.

Flagging these days leaves one feeling kind of empty inside. The items keep selling or remain as ‘valid’ listings when we all can see there is nothing in the TOS’s to explain their continued existence. No grey areas here.

My flagging finger is waning, and my patience boils over.

The phrases “new” and “in mint condition” should be a dead effing giveaway to Etsy. It just screams Ebay. UGH.

Why even do that when it seems they do just fine selling legit items? I noticed some of the “vintage style” tablecloths, etc… are tagged as handmade, some as vintage.

I officially gave up on tagging when I saw those Armani suits were still there.

Oh, but admin hears your concerns, dontcha know? Rob just needs more time to plan a roadmap. Or play Rock Band. Or adjust his cowl, or something. HE GAVE UP HIS WEEKEND, JUST FOR YOU.

I flagged it, for all the good it will do.

Why don’t Etsy employees know what ‘new in package’ means? Before they put an item on the front page, they should take time to read the description. Not because the Etsy community is asking them to, but because they are being paid to uphold the TOU.

I’ve never contacted Etsy directly with a complaint, but with all these resellers that have been mentioned here that are still up, I’m really planning on it soon.

  9. Em February 8, 2010 at 11:37 am #

Not that it will do any good, I should add.

Sweet merciful crap. I missed the part that said this was on the front page! Seriously, the image hasn’t even been changed from the wholesaler’s. How does this continue to happen??

Am I losing my mind, or did the post above this one just disappear?

  13. JK February 8, 2010 at 1:23 pm #

Yes, I am losing my mind — now I see it. Time to cut back on the coffee, clearly!

  14. Sherri February 8, 2010 at 1:23 pm #

No, it did. I think there was some information in there that was included inadvertently.

  15. Sherri February 8, 2010 at 1:24 pm #

Um, or not. I thought it disappeared, too! I must be losing my mind as well…

Sherri, its not so bad. 🙂

Here’s an update! This seller’s 8 tablecloth listings have magically become Crafting Supplies.

Looks like Etsy Call Out got her attention! Of course, if those tablecloths are Supplies, just about anything is…

I have also called her out in my blog of Etsy Vintage violations. Check out her new tablecloth listings. In some of them she says “this is new, not vintage” and “I am selling for the fabric.”

    Yeah, right.

Is the tree skirt also listed as vintage still or is that a supply too?

This seller knows she is breaking the rules and doesn’t care.

  19. Life During Wartime February 11, 2010 at 1:40 pm #

The tree skirts are still ‘vintage’. Also this pincushion

She did move the Moda factory finished kitchen towels to supplies as well. I wonder if Etsy admin advised her to do this? I thought nothing that was already complete and ready to use as is could be sold as a supply?

  20. JonhCocktoasten February 11, 2010 at 2:09 pm #

It can’t. She is still violating the TOU. I am pretty sure Admin had nothing to do with it. 🙂

Just browsing as I haven’t for awhile… I own this tablecloth… NOT handmade… but you knew that.
