Hong Kong Beads

Here’s a few resellers for you. They just need to tag their items as Commercial and they would be fine to sell on Etsy, but instead they clog up the Handmade section with their mass produced beads.

Reseller of Pandora Style Beads in the Handmade Section.

Same beads, same item numbers. Another Hong Kong reseller.
Obvious Reseller that has been reported numerous times by me.

CloudyWind is selling mass produced beads from Hong Kong as “handmade”

Here’s an example:

Etsy listing: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=41594838

eBay sold item: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320429096002

Cloudywind uses the same pictures, same item numbers as pandorasupply on eBay.

Check the whole shop and compare with the items sold on ebay under the name of pandorasupply. For some reason they don’t have any listings up on eBay at the moment but you can compare the “sold” items

CloudyWind is listing their beads under supplies, so at least they are listing in the right category. The beads are handmade, the question is by whom? But they also sell finished jewelry, listed as Supplies. If they make the bracelets, they are Handmade Jewelry. If they don’t make them, they shouldn’t be on Etsy. Admin needs to contact them to sort this out.

The first shop called out, Sallymbeads, lists their beads under (handmade) glass. The beads should be Supplies/commercial, and then the shop would be okay.

You are allowed to sell commercially made lampwork beads on Etsy if you put them in the appropriate category. Unfortunately, HeyMichelle’s project does not include addressing issues like these 2 shops.

That sux for shops selling actual handmade beads.

I sent a friendly note to the first shop, telling them that they should list under Supplies-Commercial, so that they would get more sales.

Figured it couldn’t hurt to play dumb about their “mistake”. I mentioned them being “new” and all, perhaps they weren’t aware.

We’ll see what happens. I’ll check again tomorrow to see if they changed them.
