“Vintage” DVD’s by kokopellisales

Mr & Mrs. Smith? The Whole Nine Yards?? This is just embarrassing.
Hopefully Etsy will be swift with the removal of those 12 listings for
DVD's clogging up the vintage category. Grrrr.

Just a side note question when looking at the shop's banner- Santa
"Clause"? Is that purposely not spelled right?

Also has political pins from 2001 – claims they are vintage.
The whole shop is a flea market of junk.
There may be a few items that are actually vintage but who wants to look through all the junk to see?

I flagged – maybe etsy will do something about it since they don’t have many sales.

    Dvd’s are gone.

  3. uh-huh July 1, 2010 at 9:40 am #

More filthy vintage shoes on the FP

  4. Life During Wartime July 1, 2010 at 9:50 am #

All the items have been disappeared by admin now.

From their FaceBook and Twitter, I would say they took a wrong turn at the Amway Convention on their way to the swap meet, and wound up on Etsy by accident.

Another (probably useless) wake-up call for Etsy: swap meeters think your site is a cheap version of Ebay. Whaddya gonna do about it, Brooklyn?

  5. wahwah July 1, 2010 at 9:51 am #

Those shoes are disgusting. There is even crap stuck to the bottom.

  6. Laura July 1, 2010 at 9:51 am #

Well, the shoes are kind of funny! I like their description of them!

  7. Fed UP July 1, 2010 at 9:59 am #

Those shoes are so, so nasty. If someone directed me towards Etsy and I saw THAT on the front page I would high tail it out of there. There are so many straight up amazing treasuries right now and they pick that? I guess I’m just not hip enough. *sob*

  8. etsycallout July 1, 2010 at 10:00 am #

Want your treasury on the FP? Put a pair of old shoes in the mix! It’s a sure thing!

  9. uh-huh July 1, 2010 at 10:04 am #

$20 worth of foot funk *hurl*
Even my own shoes that old and funky gross me out.
I’m not dissing the seller, just the shoes. Ick.

  10. wahwah July 1, 2010 at 10:05 am #

I bet my stinking birkenstocks are worth a fortune. Their odor scares the dog away.

  11. MadeByM**** July 1, 2010 at 10:07 am #

Weird……..number of items still showing under the sections in the shop, but nothing shows up!

FYI……….. “Santa Clause” is a name of a movie!

  12. Dot July 1, 2010 at 10:10 am #

Can’t stand those shoes, but that coffee cup with a soccer player was on Regretsy recently, lol!

  13. MadeByM**** July 1, 2010 at 10:10 am #

Maybe they’re playing off of that……….or, they’re just dumb.

  14. wahwah July 1, 2010 at 10:11 am #

I love that they have a Twilight FP and the stinky shoes are still there.

  15. elizabeth July 1, 2010 at 10:17 am #

What the hell? Somebody actually BOUGHT the dirty nasty shoes. AND paid $20.00 for them.

Oh, but they’re ‘vintage’, therefore hip!

  16. uh-huh July 1, 2010 at 10:17 am #

ok I’d rather see stinky shoes than twilight inspired stuff argh

  17. wahwah July 1, 2010 at 10:21 am #

    amen uh-huh

    they both stink

  18. etsycallout July 1, 2010 at 11:06 am #

she puts a Tim Allen movie title in her banner??! We still don’t get it.

  19. Life During Wartime July 1, 2010 at 11:22 am #

There is a factor in valuing vintage: condition.

Those shoes have little to no value in that condition.

I’m guessing a chaos mage bought them to use in a ritual 😉

  20. JOINAA July 1, 2010 at 11:38 am #

All items are down now. Shop still sits, looking stoopid and empty.

  21. Life During Wartime July 1, 2010 at 11:49 am #

I see one of Madame Pomm’s ceramic shops (aka Blue Witch, called out here a few times) was featured in today’s Etsy Finds…

    http://www.etsy.com/listing/47059674/soccer-football-ceramic-mug-cup-hand

…and the item sold, of course.

  22. Shiv July 2, 2010 at 4:06 am #

Yet again, this silly person has nicked my friend’s listing – she did this on ebay a while ago too. Etsy so far has done bugger all.

    My friend’s listing:

    Evil person’s listing:

    http://www.etsy.com/listing/46263650/cocktail-noir-lbd-vintage-lace-illusion

She didn’t change a damn thing.

  23. MadeByM*** July 2, 2010 at 6:47 am #

Her shop is open for business again…….. : (

  24. ohboy July 2, 2010 at 7:49 am #

Lazy sellers think they can call anything that’s been used: “vintage”. But then again on that note – vintage wine would be pretty gross

Back up with new trash!!! All the “kokopelli” crap is made by someone else. How are the Disney items “vintage”? What a crock.

  26. Life During Wartime July 2, 2010 at 10:14 am #

kokopellisales is the perfect example of a shop brought into compliance with Etsy’s whack concept of marketplace integrity.

    http://www.etsy.com/listing/46479445/tote-bag-red-hat-society

This hat is ‘vintage’. In the helpful description she lets you know that the bag is from a group founded long, long ago in 1998.

Etsy! You need SOME sort of quality control. Please. We’re BEGGING you. Etsy is a frikken flea market!

  30. detroit July 2, 2010 at 10:19 am #

For real crafters, it’s a big THREATsy.

  31. JOINAA July 2, 2010 at 10:37 am #

    FAKEsy!

  32. Life During Wartime July 2, 2010 at 2:18 pm #

detroit, much as I hate to say it, I think kokopellisales is in compliance with Etsy’s standards for vintage.

Check out Garagetsy blog. The items shown there have been reported. Too many of them were spotted on the FP or featured in the Dorque. Recently, as in the last few weeks.

It sux, but I think the standard for vintage on Etsy is: don’t bother the staff about vintage TOU violations — we’re too busy mentoring resellers.

  33. bellacruz July 3, 2010 at 12:10 pm #

    Lol @ LDW!

  34. notvintage July 6, 2010 at 4:07 pm #

Looks like the shop has been edited. GOOD! Still crappy though.

  35. howwunnerful July 11, 2010 at 6:36 pm #

    so if redhat was created / deveoped / founded whatever in 1998… math skills seriously lacking here – duhhhh 1998 + 12 = 2010 – ?

btw i am sooooo sick of red hat crap and kokopelli – wasn’t the kokocrap big in the mid’90s?

yeah i’m a crankybitch right now.

hey! a name for my new store; crankybitch! 😀
