booboo and irene are both in Montreal. Their shops look the same. Twins maybe?

makes me sick… and proves that all people want is whatever they can get their hands on for cheap. They don’t even stop to think WHY it is so cheap!

Should I admit this? I posted in another thread about this Martin seller b/c a friend liked their bracelets so I bought one for her and one for me too. Someone mentioned that they were simple to make, so they could be handmade. However, did that wholesale site say 100,000 available? No way can two people make that many!

Rugs listed in vintage, but their announcement/profile sure makes them sound like resellers:

“Headquartered in Montreal for almost 10 years, with hubs in Canada and the USA, eCarpetgallery sells hand woven luxury carpets online to buyers around the world. eCarpetgallery has unique access to major carpet producing areas, small villages and nomadic tribes in Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Republic of Russia, Pakistan and India. By importing directly from the source eCarpetgallery is able to provide you with authentic oriental rugs at highly competitive prices. eCarpetgallery consists of a remarkable combination of talented people, fine rugs and a decidedly customer-focused culture”

Etsy’s turning into Ebay. Etsy admin and a number of shoppers don’t seem to mind.

fair play to both bomobob and irene for recognizing what sells and cashing in on it.

Copied you suggest? I think not.

    From March 2008:

So which one of bomobob’s competitors keeps writing in with these lies?

    = = = = = = = = =

Yah. There are several “artists” on etsy who totally cash in on what sells too, two that paint on little canveses and one that does watercolor. They;re on the fp all the time. All 3 always seem to just happen to have lots of paintings of whatever happens to be popular at the moment and it;s easy to see that they study etsy and the stork looking for trends and then they paint them. Foxes, owls, buntings, the current holiday,,,,,,that kind of thing. You can predict what you’re going to see in their shop before you visit by noting what the current trends are at the tiem.

Mass exodus to Artfire now in progress!

I reported “Martin” over a year ago, many times. So did others. We sent in pictures from alibaba, but of course, etsy turned a blind eye.

Why the Bob bashing? This is supposed to be about resellers, thieves, and liars.

Hi, I am new here but I am totally disgusted with one particular seller, she gets her stuff from lousy china suppliers that suppliers to ebay sellers too. I’d like to name her so that you can put it up front on your blog and hopefully save some buyers’ hard earned $:
    http://www.etsy.com/shop/linda168

check out her items! they can be found on ebay with numerous sellers selling the EXACT same stuff

for example:http://www.etsy.com/listing/57095833/sweetly-chiffon-square-neck-short-sleeve (this is taken from her etsy shop)

and look! similar dress on ebay!

Who the hell buys a persian rug on Etsy? Christ almighty. People will buy any goddamn thing! I think there are a lot of people out there with too much money.

  17. detroit September 25, 2010 at 5:41 am #

And did I mention Etsy’s interface SUCKS! Half the time I can’t even figure out how to get to a shop’s items for sale, because the navigation links move all over the goddamn place! There in a different spot on each page – sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right, in different order here and there!!!

Can someone provide a reasonable explanation? What am I missing? Isn’t it website building 101 – you keep the navigation buttons in a consistent place so people can easily use your goddamn site?

  18. detroit September 25, 2010 at 5:42 am #

*There* in a different spot on each page – sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right, in different order here and there!!!

*They’re* in a different place – not *there*. LOL – I’m so PO’d about the stupid site layout I can’t even spell!

Ok, glad someone else thinks the new shop format is an absolute mess! Why the left side and then the right side?? Pick one and stick to it! I really haven’t seen any talk of this in the forums, but I might have missed it.
