the re-sellers on Etsy are getting smart about doctoring their photos, but tineye still picked up this one!

I have no doubt that nothing in this shop is handmade by a single person. All of these photos look far too much like the pages from an alibaba wholesaler.

Another shop title making an attempt to ride another’s coattails? This seems to be getting redundant. Nice addition of the numbers at the end, showing that it isn’t about the shop, it’s about the name.

Are you implying that their shop name is a knock off of theblackapple because that would be a BIG stretch. The shop name brings to mind New York, not theblackapple. I don’t think anyone is going to confuse the two shops…. their items couldn’t be more different.

I do agree that the shop sucks and needs to GO!

And yet another Featured Seller who stuffs tags like crazy! WTG KnitStorm and WTG Etsy! That seems to be the new prerequisite for becoming a Featured Seller. Niiiiiiiiiiiiice.

The new dorque article, I had to laugh when Michelle interviewed an astronaut “straight from our office supply closet”.

    Hahaha!

Why didn’t she use the plushy phone booth? Hahahahaha!

I’m so jealous, though, that Michelle had the chance to interview an astronaut- that is so cool.

I really don’t think I can stand much more of the bogus vintage and handmade plus the inequity of the fp anymore. Have to take a break and not even look at either for awhile. I wish there was another venue to go to that was as popular as etsy but, there’s not.
Last year my shop averaged 15-17 sales a month. This year it’s 7-10 sales a month. Why, I don’t know. But, I have to figure at least some of the loss was due to the vintage tag on everything lately. I still think we should get rid of tags altogether. Most selling sites don’t have them.

I am glad someone is at least making 7 – 10 sale a month. I am below those numbers. Etsy is not what any of us thought we were getting. They do not promote handmade. They promote their vision of trendy -which I guess is what is hot in Brooklyn (not elsewhere). They want to make a big fuss about going global but have invited in the worst of the world market. They want to be the gestapo for silencing members who speak out or ask questions. They are not proactive on solving problems. If anything it seem they create a new problem each week. The front page favoritism shows Etsy is a showcase for a few people and is something that pretty much can be bought. Its sort of like being back in 7th grade with lots of cliques.

I don’t understand mug cozies. That would just annoy me if I was actually a coffee or tea drinker. She sure is a talented tag stuffer though.

I looked at their listings, and many of them also be found on alibaba. There is even one dress that was listed in and sold from the girlybox shop! I flagged a bunch of them.
