maneklady, dizneydoll

2 emails:

Hi, I think there this maneklady is ripping off the original design, offered free online, and claims as her own, and resell the pattern and kit. Apart from the twinkle star, the beaded bead (in sold section) is another copy suspect.

Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/maneklady?ref=seller_info
Original design: http://www.keiserdesigns.com/KDC_Complimentary.htm

Clearly, the original design has been developed in 2003, and the maneklady merely added strings of blings and resell the pattern as her own design.

I hope you would take a look.

I didn’t realize it was a pattern she is selling for $50 – ridiculous!
I’m not even sure I would pay that much for the actual finished item. lol

The free pattern even states that it’s for personal use only.

    *shakes head*

Well, just sent off a email to eva maria Keiser. Dunno if anything will come out of that. If I do get a reply I’ll let you know.

  8. Wolf November 30, 2010 at 12:51 pm #

I email Eva Marie Keiser as well.

This was the response I received-

“Thank you so much for advising me of the infraction. I will look into the matter further!”

    So maybe something will happen.

This all so sad! I sell on Etsy because it seemed special. People sharing their talents of what they can make. Now when you shop it is so hard to tell if they actually make it or just purchase it and sell it at a higher rate or are resellers etc.

I wouldn’t of thought twice about the ring until reading it here. I would of believed it was hand crafted.

The beads are beautiful well I guess it is $50.00 for a pattern that you can just download for free but how would anyone know that? You want to believe in the shops, you want to believe that Etsy puts a stop to this kind of stuff but from what I’ve seen sense reading this blog not much is done on Etsy’s side unless of course you piss them off.

A new venue with admins that are more concern with the art then the money is needed.

big-hitter orglamix admits she is re-selling bath bombs:
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/63241051/spa-day-2-organic-bath-bombs?ref=fp_ph_13&src=prvshp
“These were made by a seller here on Etsy, exclusively for Orglamix. To be honest, they aren’t quite what I expected. They are a bit pale in color and although each one smells DIVINE, they aren’t very pretty — my loss, your gain — they are nice for your family, kids, but not something terribly fabulous enough to gift”
so how is she allowed to sell these? they’re not handmade by her, and you can’t consider a bulk purchase from another shop a ‘collective’

Not only that, it’s basically “calling out” inside a listing, and what a slam to the person she bought them from! Ouch!

Orglamix is a known repacker in the mineral makeup community. She also sent out C&Ds and threatened to sue every blogger who reviewed her products and came to the conclusion that they were repacks of TBK wholesale pigments. I’m not surprised that she’s outsourcing other products in her shop, either — but I took a screenshot just in case!

I got the same reply as Wolf. Now we done our bit and it’s up to others if anything happens.

Comments are being a little glitchy at the moment, we are looking into our spambot. Thanks for your patience.

    I agree #10 –
    1) it shouldn’t be re-sold by orglacrap
    2) it’s beyond tacky to comment negatively about the seller she bought it from (say, if she said that in a forum thread, it’d be closed for calling out)
    3) bad business on orglacrap’s part – that listing and comments alone made me decide to not buy from her
