Just a heads up, a seller is reselling new furniture and items as vintage from a wholesale company called Creative CO OpYou can view Creative Co Op’s line here without a wholesale account:

ReSeller: custom68

Creative Co-op:

ReSeller: custom68

Now for the HILARIOUS part!!!!!!

This same seller wholesaled some pillows from PetitCoterie. and listed them here.

PetitCoterie is a seller here on Etsy, here is her shop:

Looks as though Custom68 wholesaled from and did not realize her wholesaler had a shop here on Etsy. BIMBO LMAO WTF?

There is nothing in this sellers shop that is vintage. It would be one thing if the seller was confused about what she can list on Etsy but this is not the case. She is out and out calling her items vintage. They are new items from China. And Megan whatesehername knows it!

She is screwing over customers big time.

Edit to add Quick recap: PetitCoterie  is NOT the reseller. She has had her shop on Etsy for a long time. She also has a web site off Etsy where she wholesales.

It looks like Custom68 bought her pillows wholesale from PetiteCoterie off Etsy and then listed them on Etsy without realizing that PetiteCoterie also has a shop on Etsy.

Can you make that clear, people are now calling PetiteCoterie a reseller. There is no proof that she is.

This is all about Custom68.

The tiny font is killing me!
Please use a bigger font, ECO.

I’m still looking for the bird sculptures at Creative Co-op, but I did find this item from custom68’s shop:

It is item HD3990A, 28 3/4″L cast iron door crowns in 4 styles, minimum order is 4, from the 2010 Vol. 1 Home Decor Catalog. The pic in custom68’s shop was supplied by Creative Co-op.

Stay tuned. I’m gonna call out almost the whole shop here with documenting links. Then we can all get steamed watching Etsy do nothing about this shameless reseller LOL

Haha! And petite couterie is a reseller who has her stuff listed in housewares and so did custom68.

Custom68 is very confused as to what is considered vintage. Giclee prints of vintage posters are not vintage. And I’m doubting she even did the prints.

Okay, back to calling out custom68!

    The ‘vintage’ (NOT!!!) pewter…

In the custon68 Etsy shop a group of 6 pewter items:

    Web site for Vagabond House:

    CANDLE STICKS 10″ AND 12″:

    So, yeah….these are vintage?

  5. WangFu January 14, 2011 at 6:32 am #

Oh yes. Please please use the other font.

  6. Life During Wartime January 14, 2011 at 11:14 am #

Custom68’s items have been disappeared. Dunno if this a move by admin or a reseller hiding the evidence.

  7. Life During Wartime January 14, 2011 at 12:22 pm #

No, the PetitCoterie shop is not a reseller. Are they a co-op, then? Or do you think one person makes all the items they sell wholesale to the trade? Or are they a small manufacturer, with employees, not discussed anywhere I could find in their Etsy shop?

That was fast. Looks like Custom68 is gone.

BTW I love the new look ECO! But I agree the font in this particular post is too tiny.

oh she HAND TIES THE COTTON FRINGE ON? Yeah give me a break.

Custom68’s shop is still on Etsy:

    But the items are gone.

    They’ll be back after coaching.

  12. madmomma January 14, 2011 at 6:14 pm #

Sara the shop you mention is “interesting” and worth looking further into. The seller has another shop and admits that other people (friends) are making the items?

It seems a little fishy, and worth looking further into…
also the favorite shops and items appears to have have some proven resellers.

This seller outed themselves today in this thread:

  14. imwithya January 14, 2011 at 6:37 pm #

Oh crap. I guess I just clicked a link to an item when I got the “uh oh” and not their shop.

  15. imwithya January 14, 2011 at 6:49 pm #

That’s a great reseller self callout Sally. She makes coats, sweaters, knitted sweater, evening gowns, blouses, purses AND has catalog style photos with the model’s heads chopped off. Oh and half of her stuff is listed as “vintage”. Yah right.

You think Etsy will do anything about it?

  16. Life During Wartime January 14, 2011 at 7:02 pm #

Sally — a definite reseller! I loved the braintrust who posted just before the thread was closed about “they obviously sell vintage…you can find western clothes in HK…blah blah…I’m so open-minded about resellers that my brains just fell out and went SPLAT….” <—future Etsy employee?

  17. imwithya January 14, 2011 at 7:20 pm #

Yah, that last post was too much. “How can you tell? There’s a lot of vintage Western clothes in Hong Kong. Also, if you go through her past sales, you’ll notice that there aren’t repeats (just a quick scan)”

Uh, because I LOOKED at the items in her shop and sold section. In about 10 seconds I could tell she obviously didn’t make them or find those “deadstock” “vintage” items.

Also the seller says to be patient because “My full time job is a carbin crew and have to fly quite often, it may affect the delivery time sometimes.” I’m assuming she means “cabin crew” but if she works so much that she can’t ship your item in a timely manner, when the hell does she get the time to MAKE all those various types of clothing and FIND all that vintage stuff????

Nice job, Etsy! You’ve featured another seller that breaks the TOUs when it comes to tagging. Love those stuffed tags, giddyspinster!

  19. Sara January 15, 2011 at 12:36 pm #

All her leather bracelets are wholesale, makes me question the rest of her shop:

Another vote for larger font, as well as darker color…my eyes are watering from the strain. Sorry, but true. The red stands out nicely, though.

  21. Sara January 16, 2011 at 11:57 pm #

    another reseller

  22. madmomma January 17, 2011 at 1:54 pm #

Sally, I believe I located some of aptvwt’s items in a catalog a while back…

will have to see if I can find them. thought the shop looked suspicious

  23. linda January 18, 2011 at 6:20 am #

What happened to the other post?

  24. etsycallout January 19, 2011 at 7:29 am #

Really thought that our edit saying Petit was not the reseller was clear enough, but again we get another email:

I tried to post on your blog regarding Customer 68. Fortunately I was notified that this customer was selling our items on Etsy.
Amazing how people do not research to find out if there is someone else who is selling the same item. I was contacted by
Megan who described herself as an interior decorator and she purchased wholesale from us. I have no problem selling to
the trade but to be mislead is something entirely different.

I would like to make it very clear that we are not resellers. Each pillow is made by Petit Coterie. In fact I started selling my burlap
pillows on Etsy November 2008. Much to my surprise they took off and I had many requests for wholesale business. I continue to
question each wholesale customer as to the type of retail venue they have. This one (Customer 68) did not due justice to herself
by not researching her venue. I did email her and requested that she remove all of the Petit Coterie items from her Etsy. It did take
3 emails before all of it was removed. I also informed her that she did not have authorization to use our photos.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could let your readers know that Petit Coterie is not a reseller. I have worked very hard on both my
designs as well as offering a quality product to my customers. Our pillows have been knocked off by China and India which is a continual
battle to keep these from retail outlets.

Thanks so much for letting me rant,

    Michelle Corrao
    Petit Coterie
