Hi!
My blood has been boiling for days over this seller.  They are selling silver plated items and calling them sterling silver EVERYWHERE except for a tiny tag down the bottom where they say plated.  It is SO deceptive and illegal.  Please help others learn about this scammer.  Not to mention they are clogging up the sterling silver supply listings and making it hard for people to shop.

I don’t have personal experience as a buyer ie it didn’t get that far after I started reading things properly and was quite shocked by the convos she sent to me on an enquiry but I have reported her to Etsy several times for breaking the law (UK/EU) and TOU (in my opinion.)  The policies keep changing to even more extremes and her retalitory feedback is unforgivable, I’d be peeved if I had had to wait 1/4 to 1/3 of a year for cushion covers that are listed as available.

    That first one is sneaky. Claiming the items are ‘sterlingsilver plated’.

    Well, are they sterling silver or are they silver plate? They can’t be both. It doesn’t work that way.

    Marie needs a swift kick in the ass right off Etsy. What an awful seller. It would be lovely if buyers READ feedback left by buyers AND sellers and put lunatics like this out of business.

    This has to be against TOU:

    lease make payment within 24 Hours otherwise etsy will cancel the transaction. If you cancel the transaction you will be charged a handling fee of $10.00.

    This is especially bizarre when she says everything takes six weeks to happen but gee whiz, her business is so fast that 24 hours makes a difference?

    The six week lead time nicely puts her over the paypal 45 day dispute window. I am noticing this more and more with sellers and believe it is deliberate.

    If Marie’s policies state that it takes her 6 weeks to ship, then I don’t see how she could be kicked off for taking that long.

    But her feedback is fun to read! Especially the feedback she leaves for others.

    Omg..what a freaking nightmare her shop is! and its full of bullshit policies! how is that possible that she can still sell on etsy?? how is she able to charge a 10.00 fee for a cancelled transaction?? She belongs in a Mental Institution not on Etsy!! I am shocked that people are still purchasing from her! are they dense??????

    8-10 weeks to process an order is insane, the products are listed as available, it doesn’t take that long to stuff an envelope and go to the post office. The negative feedback to buyers is just unforgivable.

    VERY NASTY BUYER YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED THIS BUYER HAS MADE DEFAMATORY COMMENTS THEY ARE ABSOLUTE NONSENSE AND BEYOND BELIEF. SHE IS ABUSIVE & A BULLY. IF YOU NEED THE DEFAMATION OF BULLY DO A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET.I HAVE CONFIRMATION THAT THE BUYER READ & UNDERSTOOD THE SHOP POLICIES AND NOW HAS CHANGED HER MIND. NO TRACKING REQUESTED OR PAID FOR.Policies state all the information regarding processing,delivery & shipping. I am fully upfront with all the information it also includes that i have crohnes disease and shipping may be delayed due to my illness.Etsy DO NOT hold sellers responsible for how long it takes postal services to deliver and buyers should’nt either. I am in the UK and everything takes time overseas AS STATED IN MY POLICIES.I feel this buyer has not taken any of my policies or any information in the DESCRIPTION into consideration and has left a negative feedback. This buyer must remember to read shop POLICIES otherwise this buyer will have many unhappy experiences on etsy. Policies are there for a reason TO BE READ.Good luck on etsy in future. I have checked the communication with this seller and all messages sentand answered and i had no indication that the buyer unhappy,I believe that the feedback system is used correctly and your feedback is unfair.

    Cushion lady has some pretty unnavigable policies, so I can see why someone would not read them. Most buyers don’t go thru policies with a fine toothed comb anyway (or more likely do not read them at all.) Policies are there to CYA, but not to lean on so much that without them you have nothing.

    Stones for Cozumel. Very deceptive. Bad!!

    Why, for the love of god doesn’t that cushion seller mention the time it takes to make them in her listing descriptions!?? If a buyer found one of her items through search and bought it they would have no idea that it’s going to take months for her to make it.

    She needs to add a note about processing time and/or a link to her policies in EACH item listing. She’s driving her business into the ground with those negs! And she keeps listing even though she’s backed up for months. WTF is wrong with her? People obviously love her product otherwise.

    I’m not saying that the cushion lady’s policies are fair or right! I’m just saying that because she does have published policies, there’s not much Etsy can do about her.

    Marie is a freakin’ nutjob, postal dispatch times from UK to US are 5-7 working days. I’ve only had one package that didn’t get there in that timeframe and that was this Christmas due to extreme weather and the heightened US security measures.
    I really hope that US buyers are not put off ordering from the UK because of this clearly unhinged and nasty person.
    As other posters have said – why would anyone buy from her?????

    @sick of cupcakes – nope. It made all the type smaller… but everything got smaller with it. So the type is still overlapping. Any smaller and I’d have to use a magnifying glass to see it.

    Disgruntled buyers, even if they don’t live in the same country, should report her to Trading Standards, it is the only way to deal with people like this.

    A certain British red head would have a field day with this kind of service!

    I could make one of those cushion covers in under 4 hours and that includes the time it would take to go to the fabric store and buy fabrc plus – watching a TV program, eating a snack, cutting the fabric, answering emails, vacuuming the floor, pinning the fabric, doing a couple of loads of wash, sewing the fabric, eating another snack and then I’d be done.
    I could probably even package it up, print a paypal shipping label and drive it to the PO in that time.

    So why would anyone wait 2 months for her to “make” it. That’s just sad.

    Marie lives not far from me according to what her profile used to say. Almost bought cushion covers from her about a year ago. I like to support local, but she just sounds slightly mad in her policies. I can’t believe new buyers don’t read what sellers write for feedback. That alone would stop me buying!

    Looks like lovely Marie is finally getting a taste of her own medicine getting negative feedback as a buyer too and a worthy 95% positive feedback. Note her feedback to those sellers is just as becoming of her as to her own buyers!

    “StonesforCozumel” has closed up shop on Etsy, along with her other shop “TogglesandBobbles.” I’m out just under $100 for spacer beads etc. that were listed as sterling silver (not listed as sterling plated). I just tested them with acid. ALL ARE JUNK!! I hope that she can sleep well at night after having ripped off hundreds, if not thousands, of customers. Oh and the irony of it, if I remember correctly, her profile said that she had a master’s degree in criminal justice! And I even e-mailed her and asked how she could sell sterling silver beads so cheaply; she provided a long response that sounded plausible. Okay, so I learned my lesson. Fortunately, I had not used any of the spacer beads, but I had used some jump rings in earrings and sold them to MY customers and represented them as sterling.

    What recourse do I have? Probably nothing….

    @Stacia, if you paid by PayPal you have 45 day window to open a claim. (item not as described)

    If you paid by credit card, try pursuing it that way as well. Not sure of the time limits, but it’s longer than 45 days.

    Stacia, that’s too long to do a PayPal dispute. If you used a credit card, try and dispute the charge there. It should still be in the time frame. Good luck!
