More Jewelry…

4 Feb

You’ve probably seen this shit ad nauseum, but these sellers are still going strong and it pisses me off.  It looks like there are a few new ones added to the mix now too.

The competition in Jewelry is tough enough without these jackasses adding to it.  I don’t even sell much jewelry and it makes me angry.

Thanks for what you do calling out these parasites!

wow. weird! I was just coming by to report these shops! I only found 3 of them though. Sickening!

I think some of these may be the same person, the clover necklace pictures are placed the same.

    Did someone say jewelry.
You may want to go over to AF and read this one.

Or just stop by your Goodwill and pick some up.

curious as to what is in the artfire post. Not able to view it.

    Here is the opening post.

A few months ago, Temple St.Clair caused some drama on Etsy when she posted a blog. It was drama because she’s a commercial jewelry artist and she had a new line coming out at Target.

Well.. I was at our local Goodwill store the other day and the entire jewelry case was filled with her Target jewelry LOL

I just thought that was hilarious. It didn’t sell worth a damn at Target(most pieces were $39.99) so its now at Goodwill for $5.95.

i dont get it… what is so bad about all of this?

  6. Life During Wartime February 4, 2011 at 5:42 pm #

ArtFire has private forums? That people with studios can’t see?

  7. Wolf February 4, 2011 at 7:58 pm #

Life During Wartime, yes, they do now.

They recently updated the forums with a new layout and made some that only Pro members can see now.

Lily101, what are you refering to, as not getting it? The resellers on Etsy or the AF forum thread?

    Here’s one for ya…

    http://www.etsy.com/listing/67289017/the-amber-sunset-ring

    https://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/store/item.do;jsessionid=3C88E450B71E5C9D08E9CB657A3675F9.store-b?siteId=310&itemId=42535

Skykoltun even takes specific phrases and sentences from the Animal Rescue site’s listing as well.

but they’re in New York, so they’re probably not going to have a thing happen to them.

Thanks for the info, Wolf. I spent some time looking at AF vintage, and wowsers! AF has got some resellers on there! Shops that got the boot from Etsy can hide most of their wares in Design, and squeeze a few into Vintage and into some Handmade category.

Looking through those links, I have to say that it doesn’t appear that Honeysucklescafe deserves to be tagged a reseller. She states that she salvaged the charms from other jewelry and it does look like she added a single charm to a different chain and that she changed up the earrings quite a bit. I make jewelry and people are always giving me their old and broken stuff so that I can tear it apart and reuse the components.

I am not sure that I see anything wrong with this either. They may have bought the same clover components from the same supplier as the other stores (although not all clovers look exactly the same), and then attached them to chains/posts.

Although, this design looks the same as some of the ones in Etsy:

    http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/337065451/Fashionable_design_hot_black_four_leaf.html

I agree with Sandra that HoneySuckleCafe’s shop does not look like a reseller. Her designs are different from the rest.

On a side note, on perusing some of the sellers here, did you catch the feedback for Metallic Market? One of her buyers gave her a negative because she didn’t receive her earrings WITHIN A WEEK.

Seriously? The eastern part of the nation and much of the midwest has received some of the worst snowstorms in history, it’s been all over the news, and this buyer is mad because she didn’t get her earrings in a week? Wow.

  13. sick of cupcakes February 5, 2011 at 9:41 am #

That’s crazy. I didn’t get any mail for 3 days here because of the weather.

  14. Wolf February 5, 2011 at 1:19 pm #

The clover leaf necklaces are not componants. they are already finished necklaces that are being bought and resold, hence Resellers.

There’s no ‘adding chain or posts’ to these, they are already on chains. The ’10 pieces’ refers to how many necklaces you have to buy from the Alibaba shop, not how many componants.

And I’m fairly certain if we looked hard enough, we could find the earrings on the Alibaba site as well.

Life- The resellers on Af have to be flagged a set number of times before AF will look into the shop.}:/

They talked about revamping this system, but I don’t know if they’ve started or not.

And yes, there are A LOT of resellers on there. The one good thing about the Forums is they can be called out and the threads won’t get shut down for it. Heh.

  16. Life During Wartime February 6, 2011 at 11:37 am #

I clicked on the links above for the cloverleaf jewelry all over the web when I first read this post. Then when I browsed UEF, one of the ads was for the same jewelry. Now every time I visit youtube, or a forum with advertising, I see ads for all my callout researches. What a bummer!

By researching Etsy violations, the other online retailers for factory made goods are targeting me with stuff I would never buy.
