click2egyptCOM, DesignerYD, findingAmandine

they don't even try to hide it with their watermarks.
Shop selling (reselling) fake Uggs UGG!
This listing from a relatively new seller really irks me. It is
blatant misrepresentation of a recently manufactured item as vintage
and "midcentury":

Someone should set her straight before she makes a habit of it.

Ugg stands for UGLY anyway. 😛

Klein Reid – Fine handmade porcelain since 1996.

Maybe Etsy is expecting Klein Reid to open up a shop?

Makes you wonder why they are on etsy….why not just do ebay or bonaza.

WTG Etsy! Another featured seller who stuffs her tags until they are bursting with fruit flavor. Congratulations for being a TOU violator!

thisetsychick-tag stuffing so long as the tags are accurate doesn’t bother me. Yes, I know it’s in violation but Etsy has messed with the search so much the only way your item can be found is through tag stuffing. If it’s in the wrong category or blatantly mis-tagged, that bothers me, re-sellers bother me, tag stuffing is the least of my worries.

If Etsy ever gets a search that works properly it would be a miracle.

Lucy, it’s that kind of thinking that creates this problem. Why should some sellers get 50+ tags while others follow the rules and get 14? Example: “red blue black” vs. “red” “blue” “black”.

Beyond that, why would Etsy reward someone who violates TOUs? I would think that Etsy would go over a featured seller’s listings just to make sure they are following the rules before choosing them for such a great honor.

We all have our pet peeves, this one is mine. We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. 🙂

We can agree if Etsy would enforce their own TOUs and stop rewarding bad behaviour it would be a moot point. Like that will ever happen…

Here’s a tag stuffer if I ever saw one. This is Rachelle Levingston. She’s a good artist but I won’t buy from her because of her annoying tag stuffing. She tags her prints as originals so she shows up everywhere. Of course, she’s been reported gadzillions of times but no one does anything about it.

    Here’s one of her listings:
Yellow Fruit Bowl ORIGINAL Watercolor Painting 8 x 10 ocher golden fine gold cyber pear healthy prints cards monday christmas sale gift ideas orange saffron lime green kelly sage olive table pottery chocolate ceramic orange rust valentines day mothers

She forgot the rest of the days of the week. Today is Thursday, where is a Thursday tag?

  11. sick of cupcakes February 10, 2011 at 7:07 pm #

I refuse to buy a print without a Thursday tag.

    hah. Those titles are hysterical.

  13. WangFu February 11, 2011 at 5:07 am #

How do you even get all of those tags in there?

  14. Sick of Etsy February 11, 2011 at 7:07 am #

I found her shop when I was searching for other stuff. She seems to come up in search results no matter what I’m looking for. I do like her work and probably would buy it, but the tagging is so friggin annoying.
I don’t know why Etsy can’t limit the characters used in the title.

Me too, SOE. At one time I was looking for chickadee prints but when I saw her title I got so pissed I passed on them.

Recent call out thread in the Ideas Team/Forum. Thread quickly closed by admin. Shop called out for listing coach bags as Handmade-Bags and Purses, still open for business.

I suppose everyone still thinks SanDesign’s tag stuff is just A-Ok concerning everyone clams up whenever it is mentioned here

  18. sick of cupcakes February 12, 2011 at 6:18 pm #

San design is just as guilty as any other tag stuffer.
