Lirola

Your site rocks!

Thanks for helping to keep etsy honest since they won’t do it themselves.
I think I found another store for you.
It’s amazing how similar Liron’s About page is to another store you have already called out (Miluxstyle) that has been closed. I have bolded the sentences that are exactly the same.
My name is Liron. I am 31 years old and for the past 3 years have been designing womens clothing. I feel very grateful to have found this wonderful Etsy community that has allowed me to do what I love so much.

I have studies pattern making in Shenkar fashion academy , sewing like crazy.
After a while I took a chance with selling on Etsy, and I thank all of you for taking a chance on me:)
Fit is extremely important to me and I always do my best to make sure your garment fits like you want it to.

I love creating flattering and classic garments that make any woman feel feminine , comfortable and fashionable.
I enjoy making garments out of unexpected materials like my sweatshirt dresses that are so fun to wear.
Feel free to consult with me about fabrics ,colors, the way a garment will fit or anything else.

I especially want to say thank you to all of you who make a choice to buy HANDMADE and support fair trade. So THANK YOU!!

  1. no, I'm not Lirola although you will all tell me that I am February 23, 2011 at 12:20 pm #

And? What’s the point trying to be made here? That Lirola and Miluxstyle are the same person? Or are are you honestly trying to insinuate that Lirola copied a reseller’s shop announcement?

This is a really shitty call out. It’s very irresponsible of you to publish this totally speculative post. I know you’re all sick of seeing Lirola in treasuries and on the fp but this is crappy. Miluxstyle obviously copied off of an honest seller, not the other way around. Resellers take the lazy shortcut whenever possible and you guys KNOW this. I’ve had two resellers copy my store policies and listing descriptions word for word. It happens every damn day on Etsy.

  2. And you are... February 23, 2011 at 12:45 pm #

    Crafty or bedazzled I wonder?

  3. megansbeadeddesigns February 23, 2011 at 1:17 pm #

I am getting so tired of the treasuries that are hitting the top of page 1 featuring obvious reseller wedding dresses! Grrr!

I’m confused. Who responded in the first comment? And, what is the call out for? Reselling? Looks legit to me.

  5. no, I'm not Lirola although you will all tell me that I am February 23, 2011 at 3:07 pm #

joybells, first commenter here. I used the name “no, I’m not Lirola although you will all tell me that I am” because many of the commenters here have an annoying history of insisting that anyone who defends someone on etsy is, in fact, that person. It was a dumb joke that I shouldn’t have made. I’m just someone else with an etsy shop.

  6. Ureshii February 23, 2011 at 5:54 pm #

This is completely ridiculous. I have no doubt in my mind that Liron is legit. She does an excellent job and is clearly following her own vision.

People copy other people’s policies all the time, it means nothing.

  7. elise February 23, 2011 at 5:54 pm #

I think Lirola is an honest designer and not a reseller and the evidence to suggest otherwise is pretty weak.

  8. em February 23, 2011 at 6:32 pm #

To all of you rushing to the seller’s defense, the call out is only stating facts and isn’t “speculation” at all. It’s there to point out something weird that’s going on, that’s it.

No one has stated that Lirola copied the other seller, and I actually agree that it’s more likely the other seller copied her since it seems that a copier would omit certain parts of text instead of adding. Because if they were individual enough to add their own parts they wouldn’t even have to bother with lazy copying. Just my opinion, though.

  9. brenda February 23, 2011 at 6:36 pm #

I suspect that other shops copy Lirola all the time, including profile, policies, etc. I second Ureshii’s and Elise’s comments.

  10. em February 23, 2011 at 6:38 pm #

wow, my post came across as really bitchy. Sorry

I should really un-bunch my undies before saying things ๐Ÿ˜›

  11. Kristin February 23, 2011 at 6:41 pm #

What a joke! Obviously the reseller ripped off her info word for word, why would you call HER out when she has done nothing wrong? Lirola does not deserve to be on this site. The person who copied her has already been called out so I don’t understand why this was even posted.

  12. weak again February 23, 2011 at 6:46 pm #

ECO fail. again. becoming increasingly irrelevant aren’t you?

  13. Amy February 23, 2011 at 7:25 pm #

Lirola is definitely not a reseller. Her items are handmade to measurements. Yes, she has sizes listed for you to pick from, but when you purchase an item from her, which I have, she messages you to get specific measurements so your dress fits perfectly….and guess what, it DOES!
I wouldn’t be surprised if someone ripped off Liron’s profile description, her work is amazing! I just requested a second item from her.
This sites is for calling out etsy resellers and this post is absurd. If you wish to call out one reseller, Miluxstyle, then call them out….calling out legitimate sellers is unnecessary and down grades the accuracy of this site. Help etsy buyers find true resellers instead of poking at a successful shop for your own amusement.

hey assholes this is on the front page of etsy right now,
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/62971472/strapless-wedding-dress-bridal-gown?ref=fp_treasury_1

why don’t you call them out instead of calling out legit handmade sellers.

    fucking twats.

Highly doubt anyone would sell this dress for $230….

    Front Page.

The submitter raised a legitimate concern with all the information available to him/her, and the information provided by the commenters seems to indicate that the sub found the seller that the copycats use when putting together an Etsy shop.

Could this information have been passed along without calling the submitter a “fucking twat”? Absolutely.

The consensus seems to be not a reseller, and as such it could be noted in the body as an update. Concern is legitimate and by updating the initial post it will ensure that anyone that comes across similar resellers will be able to identify Lirola as the “original text”, and it can serve as a comparison.

Take a deep breath, ladies and gents, and remember to put on your adult hats.

  17. no, I'm not Lirola although you will all tell me that I am February 23, 2011 at 8:46 pm #

Don’t anyone hold their breath waiting for ECO to gracefully admit they made a mistake by posting this drivel here. The post will just quietly disappear like all of the other misfires where they act before they think.

  18. Angel February 23, 2011 at 9:13 pm #

I think it would be also wise, not-Lirola, to remember that not everyone who comes to this site and contributes to it are individuals with very different opinions on a lot of things. So when you criticize the community on a whole for something the submitter said/believed/insinuated/perceived, it is a level of antagonism that is simply unwarranted on individuals who are actually trying to help the Etsy community at large. I’ve yet to see someone in the comments say “Yeah, Lirola is a total reseller”…so clearly your assessment is off-base.

I’m also personally offended at your insinuation that I, and the other participants of ECO, are “sick of seeing Lirola” and this is somehow a petty revenge tactic by the community I enjoy being a part of. I’m an adult and there isn’t even a tiny part of me that isn’t disgusted by that sort of behaviour.

I can assure you that I would personally be indignant on your behalf if someone cut and pasted your online shop, taking all your hard work with it, and claiming it as their own. I can’t speak with certainty for anyone else, but I assume that the vast majority would also be up in arms as well on your behalf.

Despite how it can come across, especially when one comes in already spoiling for an internet slap fight, we’re actually trying to help legitimate sellers and sometimes confusion occurs. We’re all human. Not everyone has the time to go through the archives and read the history. What we can do is politely let the sub know that the issue is sorted out, and lay it out so the next person that comes along with the same concern can find it. And then move on to the next issue.

  19. Angel February 23, 2011 at 9:31 pm #

Pardon my terrible grasp on the English language…the first paragraph should read “to remember that everyone who…”, or else I’m completely blowing the point I was trying to make.

Consider me shamed. Not that shamed. But enough ๐Ÿ˜‰

  20. sick of cupcakes February 24, 2011 at 3:41 am #

Wow ladies, grow up and clean up the language.

  21. JK February 24, 2011 at 8:20 am #

I know that nothing makes me want to listen to someone else’s point like having them name-call, make blanket accusations and accuse the other side of having an agenda. So good job, Lirola’s fanbase! I have no idea who that seller is, but now I associate her with people like you.

  22. Ureshii February 24, 2011 at 9:09 am #

    Technically I’m Lirola’s competition.

Am I comforted to know that if someone knocked off my profile/policies I would be called out as “fishy”? Not particularly, but go ahead.

  23. you suck February 24, 2011 at 9:26 am #

sorry you have such a limited mind JK. Maybe try some puzzles to help expand it a bit. Connect some neurons.

  24. Angel February 24, 2011 at 12:09 pm #

To be fair, Ureshii, one person raised a concern and asked for assistance about the issue, hence the blog post. And everyone has been in consensus that Lirola is the victim of resellers ripping off her text/concept. That’s the beauty of a helpful community – we can politely correct any misunderstandings and by doing so, avoid them in the future.

Yes, it sometimes can sting if someone is confused about the legitimacy of merchandise, but it is an unfortunate reality of retail. And I can assure you that I would stand by your product integrity should anyone be confused or uncertain about it in the future, and I feel confident enough in those people who contribute frequently to do the same.

I am going to be kind and say that perhaps some sellers on Etsy all from Tel Aviv, like LuciaVerona, MyLolaFashion, MyLolaStudio, duende74, onor, just to name a few, (from a five minute search using etsy local: Tel Aviv) all attended Shenkar, or as duende74 says ” During my studies at the prestigious SHENKAR COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & DESIGN” and I’ll give the benefit of the doubt, maybe they were all in the same class that taught draped cowl neck dresses, and they all learned to shop at the same fabric supplier for jersey knit and have photos taken from the same photographers who cut off heads so all their shops have very similar looking items . That is where I will give doubt.

I do not doubt that there is more to all these shops that is not told.

  26. Amy February 25, 2011 at 9:04 am #

MyLolaFashion and MyLolaStudio are the same person.
The only one that attended that school, according to their profile, is duende74.
Saying that just because these designers have the same style due to where they live, therefore they must be copying off of one another is…well…nuts.
Have you ever thought that maybe their shops are similar (which IMO they all have enough differences) because that might be the current fashion style in Tel Aviv. I could go on to say that every hipster shop from Portland is copying every other hipster shop from Portland…but maybe that’s the style in Portland…hipster. (I have nothing against either Portland or hipsters :D)
When you market a shop you usually try to market to your current audience, if that works..you expand to other areas. These styles work for these ladies…as they each have their own unique beautiful designs, just as the Portland hipsters have theirs…which might seem very similar to someone not a fan of that style. Or what about wire wrapped jewelry sellers? Did they all, obviously, copy off of one another. Where are you people drawing the line?

Also….some of Liron’s dresses/tops are photographed on a model with a head…not sure if you checked out her pictures, but she is actually in some on them. There are lots of shops that do not show the head of their models (some people like to be more anonymous)…some people even *gasp* use a dress form!
Again, this site is to pick out “resellers” on etsy, not people that might have similar design tastes. God forbid someone has the same style as someone else and tries to sell something similar…that’s what is known as competition. Show me one marketable item out there that doesn’t have a couple shops trying to sell something similar. Go ahead…search “dog hat” on etsy and you’ll find TONS of shops selling…wait for it..similar hats for dogs

  27. Angel February 25, 2011 at 12:16 pm #

I refuse to believe that there is a market for dog hats. I ADAMANTLY REFUSE TO BELIEVE.

Pardon me while I weep for humanity.

  28. Susan February 26, 2011 at 6:09 am #

Dog mittens and dog diapers I bet but I’m not going to look.

ECO isn’t just to call out resellers although that’s much too common, this blog calls out “other hot topics” like anything that violates TOU, such as not disclosing multiple shops or running off with everyone’s money. This TelAviv fallout is like the Turkey mess or Violavintage/IconicStyles where I’m not quite believing sellers are doing everything without help. Dammit how long does it take to be coached to be a “collective?”. !!!

  29. kitten February 27, 2011 at 8:12 pm #

I have a friend who has had a dog hat business for years. Mostly the hats are bought to use for a photo or for a special event, such as a parade.

  30. Liron Ladenheim September 27, 2011 at 12:57 pm #

    Hi everyone.

This is the first time I have seen this post, while trying to improve on my SEO on Google.
Anyway, I appreciate your concern about etsy resellers. But, I am the wrong person to blame for that.
I have found quite a few shops copying my profile word for word. I have tried to contact these sellers. Sometimes they change the profile/policies, and sometimes they leave it as is. If you search, you will find a few more. But, to add insult to injury? That’s not very fair.

    Some facts about Israel-
Israel is very tiny. Shenkar Academy is the one established school of fashion in Israel.

Women in the warm Israeli weather are addicted to jersey and wear very casual clothing, so wovens, silks and fancy clothing are not easy to find on women in their everyday lives, this is not New York… what can I say?

There are very few high quality fabric suppliers here in Tel Aviv, and the successful ones are very dominant , so it is very plausible that you will find similar colors and fabrics among Israeli designers.

It is me in the pictures in my etsy shop. If I get a nice picture but my facial expression is weird, I will take my head off. I also take my own pictures using a timer….just the easiest for me.

Everything I make is custom to measurements, a standard chart in my shop is hardly ever used, except maybe when someone orders a gift, but I always ask for measurements.

Have a nice day everyone. I will happily reply to any question.
I really appreciate everyone who defended me. And Ureshii- you are amazing!
