i could ALMOST laugh…if it weren’t for all those sales. argh. i think one of the giveaways for resellers is the number reference in the title? perhaps?

jeesus – you would think there is a frickin quality control department on etsy – i have reported so many people and nothing is ever removed.. i think [report this item] emails go directly to trash…

Maybe not a reseller as much as a factory shop. The announcement clearly says she is selling part of her father’s ‘line’ and that her husband also helps her. I am guessing there are assemblers making the pieces, she and her father do design work, and her husband helps out on the business end. Etsy is probably cool with this being a ‘collective’.

umm, me thinks she’s reseller. i found her other bracelet in a totally separate wholesale shop – well unless she has a very rich daddy in asia who has lots of wholesale companies 🙂

Reseller or not, she has made enough sales and the bracelets have enough of a handmade look that she won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. I’m seriously considering starting a bracelet shop now. I could use 3000 sales in a little over a year, that’s for sure!

I think they were going for “pimp your limb”.

WEll, if someone wants to waste their time selling cheap junk to teenagers, they can have those customers. Anyone actually making that stuff themselves would be in the red, big time.
want the teenyboppers? YUKON HAVE EM! There’;s a sucker with no taste born every second.

Not surprised…. I noticed they are from Shanghai, so I am guessing they supply all the online stores listed. And I am sure Etsy wont do a thing about it because they are making $$$$ off of them.

    friggin jackasses

  12. Reseller? June 24, 2011 at 10:03 am #

There is no harm in making these easy & simple bracelets. Just the shop is asian, and similar bracelets are also available wholesale doesn’t mean the seller isn’t making the items in her shop. Maybe the shop is up after being reported because it turns out she is not a reseller.

Hope springs eternal for some. Etsy don’t give a shit– what do they have, a bot and maybe two people on the “content team”? Shucks, never give a sucker an easy break.

It’s like a shop based on everything that’s wrong with Etsy!

I took a look at loipaas, and LOLed at their sci-fi meets Paris avatar. Been open a couple of months and hundreds of sales, this is the kind of cheap carp that Etsy corporate’s target demo buys on the site. Owls, cameras, Paris — these are the trends that Etsy has been shoving at the community. The shop is a true splinter off the monthly merchandising report desk, so how could they not be successful?

  16. peevypants June 24, 2011 at 2:48 pm #

ugh! those prices…like shooting fish in a barrel.

  17. WittyBird June 24, 2011 at 3:28 pm #

Even better than Lopipaas the shop is the feedback, LOL!

    “There were scratches on mine”
    “Big Gob of Glue”

Holy Carp Hipsters it’s .99 What DO you want?
    Real Vintage?

I’d want to buy something just to leave Feedback!

I found 3 different shops on Etsy, all from HK, selling the Pumpkin Car Necklace K198. With the stock number in the title. But these are all collectives, making the same handmade jewelry, according to Etsy? Because, dammit, software can find these things if we can find them — and a whole lot faster, too.

  20. WittyBird June 25, 2011 at 4:34 am #

    Now this is just lazy.
