My family used to own a retail furniture store and we sold these exact same tables and barstools. I see on some of the listings they have a picture that I guess is supposed to prove they are handmade? When you buy these from the wholesaler you have to assemble them, using the drill to put the legs on the chairs & tables – the exact same thing anyone would have to do if they bought furniture in a box from Ikea or Wal-Mart.

The piece of cardboard she has is being used as a pattern to cut the fabric underneath to the right size. You can take the cushion off of the metal frame and cover it with fabric to reupholster the seat (my mom did this with some barstools for my sister). I guess that part might make it Etsy legal, but the tables themselves aren’t altered in any way, and those stools that have the vinyl seats – those are identical to ones we sold so I don’t they’ve altered them at all. The seats that have the checkered and zebra prints, and the Beatles print ones are probably altered but I don’t think any of the others are.

Wow, just terrible! Even though they offer to make a custom fabric seat, they are not making these stools and tables and the seats which the manufacturer produced. In order to be etsy legit, they would have to make each seat with custom fabric.

The bed canopies claim “made in the US” but duh, that’s where this shop is located so I would hope so.

    Total resellers.

When this store (it’s not a “shop” by my standards) was mentioned here the other day, I checked it out and reported it. They certainly aren’t doing much business on etsy with 28 sales, and only 7 feedback given. I wish more buyers left feedback. What really irritates me is sellers who don’t leave feedback for the customers. I have seen many wellknown etsy shop owners who receive feedback but never leave it for their customers. To me it says “no thanks, don’t bother coming back, you are not valued”.

Reeks of desperation. Why use Etsy? They need to hire someone with some sense. And of course none of this shit is remotely handmade.

Let’s not get into everyone-should-leave-feedback-even-though-it-is-optional debates here. Leave your preaching for the Etsy forums.

There is nothing remotely handmade about these chairs/bar stools. Let’s not forget that mass produced furniture sold at Art Van, Ethan Allen, La-Z-Boy [insert furniture manufacturer of choice] also comes with different fabric options. So, they’ve posted a picture of one of their factory workers changing the seat fabric? That’s all it is.

Here’s their barstool in chrome from another manufacturer:

This site states the photo source of the barstools in shutterstock:

Scroll down to read the description on this site:

“we have found discount metal swivel bar stools that do swivel and are really metal and come in 24 inch counter height models. They are sold through One Way Furniture and the top selling design costs just $59…so it’s perfect! It has a back, sort of fan-shaped with five metal rods, a vinyl padded seat, a circular rod for a footrest and a black metal finish that’s durable for kitchen usage. You can’t order just one stool, they come in sets of two, although they’re priced individually. We recommend this stool for those who have a classic décor, a kitchen where there are children who eat breakfast at the counter or those who need extra seating.”

I could go on and on and on about the 1950s styled chrome barstools, but I won’t. I think you all get the point.

    Nothing handmade here:
Her profile states that she’s “learning to make some handmade products”. But for now, guess this junk will do.

Did anyone notice what ancup has in the About section of their profile?
    It’s quite funny.

Tricia, good catch! So this guy has to rest during pregnancy on Etsy, but not on Ebay? The whole shop is a load of reseller fakery.
