TheVintageArt, KRHSvintage, vladamikdesigns, OneStopBeadingShop, iCouldUseADeal

How easy were these items to find?  I typed the number 2004 into Etsy Search for ‘All Items” and there they were!  Easy for me, but apprently beyond the expertise of the Etsy staff?
Found this shop with my 2004 search, but they have more than one violation here for selling newish items as ‘vintage’.
Another shop that is a mixture of old and new items, some listed in handmade categories.  Also found in my 2004 search.
And again, found by searching for 2004, this shop also has a bunch of listings for newish collectibles less than 20 years old.
http://www.etsy.com/shop/OneStopBeadingShop This shop has a bunch of Hallmark products listed as Supplies, all too new for viintage.  Found with my 2004 search.  Ornaments and photo frames from Hallmark are not supplies.
Shop for art not created by the seller, most (15 out of 18 listings) too new for vintage, listed as Handmade Art.
These shops were easy to find.  Granted I had to look through 14 pages of items, but mostly that was just paging past a lot of listings for crafting patterns and artists selling their own work from 2004.  Come on, Etsy, you don’t need us to find these things.

Sorry, this is not in regard to the above posting however, how would I report someone who is doing this? they are stating it is vintage? I know about this type of wholesale jewelry because I bought this for my daughter for her wedding @ rhinestonejewelry.com and no way is it vintage.

    curious~

Sue, that’s a good callout. This item in her shop isn’t vintage, either:

I am going to look at her stuff in detail.

No doubt about it — PriscillaJames is a reseller!

Pair of ‘vintage’ birdcages in her shop:

Same birdcages at Save on Crafts:
    http://www.save-on-crafts.com/birdcages3.html
Same photos, too! Prices are not the same, though 😉

Here’s the ‘vintage’ candelabra from PriscillaJames:

Here it is from Save On Crafts:
    http://www.save-on-crafts.com/candelabra1.html
    Not vintage at all.

Most of the crowns and tiaras listed in PriscillaJames shop are from Sue’s jewelry wholesaler link.

  6. sue October 23, 2011 at 4:52 am #

Life During Wartime, Yes!! I spotted that too~

  7. sue October 23, 2011 at 4:53 am #

Noticed that this person even used the wholesalers photo’s wow, that is just wrong~

  8. Lisa October 23, 2011 at 5:37 am #

Sue, I would report the whole shop and state they are not vintage. You should also give the link to that rhinestone jewelry link.

I have reported everything in the post above. Not that it will make any difference. I don’t post here but do read often and report shops or items that I agree are violators. I am so tired of this. It is hard enough lately to make sales on Etsy without having to compete with shops like these.

I wouldn’t want the customers that like shit like that. Tacky, no taste, no brains—- heck, I have my pride. They don’t. I’m richer.

This item PriscillaJames has listed as handmade jewelry:
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/82718468/showcase-rhinestone-pearl-necklace-with
But she bought it wholesale. Like this one?
    http://weddingfactorydirect.com/ne-969.html
Same photos, copied description text. Busted!

    More ‘vintage’ fakery from PriscillaJames:

Here it is, wholesale, same photo, same text:

Look at the price difference! Regretsy needs to have this shop featured in Compare and Save!

  12. sue October 23, 2011 at 11:47 am #

I just reported the one item, the necklace & earrings in her shop that I purchased for my daughters wedding at Rhinestonejewelry.com her whole shop needs to be reported for sure~do not think I can report her whole shop now ~

  13. Life During Wartime October 23, 2011 at 12:03 pm #

Jumping to yet another online merchant we find another item also sold in PriscillaJames shop:
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/82680461/lg-vintage-rhinestone-ab-wedding-brooch
Read the bottom of her description which implies this is a vintage collector’s item. But you can buy it here:
    http://shopforbridaldirect.com/proddetail.php?prod=SR-BRO-8779-Silver-AB%2FClear

    Pants on fire!

Another ‘vintage’ Compare and Save! From Etsy reseller PriscillaJames:
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/82826708/very-large-3-rhinestone-butterfly
    Buy for less here:
    http://weddingfactorydirect.com/barrette-1024-s-ab.html

    Not vintage, obviously.

  15. Life During Wartime October 23, 2011 at 12:13 pm #

Why buy this reseller item from Etsy shop PriscillaJames:
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/82157204/destination-must-have-wedding-necklace
because it isn’t vintage, as she claims, and the wholesale price here:
    http://weddingfactorydirect.com/ne-1268.html
is half of what Pris charges!

    Not vintage. Not even close.

  16. Life During Wartime October 23, 2011 at 12:29 pm #

Reseller PriscillaJames claims she makes these neclaces to order:
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/84264846/delicate-sweet-necklace-in-925-silver-a?image_id=279744228
Check out the stock pics in her listing from an Asian catalog site, and the fractured English title…because we ladies always feel ‘sweet and dearing’, don’t we?
And the price is so low, too — a handmade necklace for $5.00?
That’s a bargain compared to this
    http://www.ioffer.com/i/pretty-pink-bow-crystal-stone-silver-necklace-198751044
but you can contact the ioffer seller for a bulk price!
Same photos, but ioffer necklace has no claims to be 925 (sterling) silver.

Sue, I have 6 more comments awaiting moderation about 6 more reseller products in PriscillaJames shop. Almost all her listings have been called now and documented as not handmade by her, or not vintage. She is a reseller, no doubt about it.

  18. sue October 23, 2011 at 6:19 pm #

“Wow” I wonder if Etsy will take note to this seller and get her off here, this person is taking up space for someone who is not a fake in selling. This person really did not read Etsy’s policies for sure!

  19. DeadKittens October 24, 2011 at 1:17 pm #

    I bet etsy does nothing.

  20. Life During Wartime October 24, 2011 at 5:43 pm #

TheVintageArt and ICouldUseADeal are now empty.

KRHS and OneStopBeadingShop are no longer listing the 21st Century Items.

But Etsy found vladamikdeisgns too much of a challenge because some newer David Winter Cottages are stlll listed, and one Armani figurine that I believe is from the late 90s (seller does not show the back base of the figure where the date would be). I guess all 1990s items are now ‘vintage’ according to Etsy policy?
