Etsy shop:
She is a reseller, and Etsy hasn’t closed her down.  So here’s more proof, and let’s hope it’s something Etsy cannot ignore.
First item from her shop, a dog bed made from a wine barrel:
But, wait, photo number one wasn’t taken by the seller.  Found it on other retail sites, one identified the source for the product as True Fabrications.  And here it is:
True Fabrications sells both wholesale and retail.
How about the hanging glass and bottle rack made from a wine barrel:
Again, not her photo.  Same photo here (and on Ebay and a bunch of other sites):
And the wine basket made from barrel staves:
check out the second photo, it is easy to fine elsewhere, like here:
My guess is that all these items are purchased wholesale from True Fabrications, and are items you cannot view online without an account.
This item shows stock photos of three different products, all now usually listed as Out Of Stock by most retailers.  They used to be all over Etsy, but it looks like Suzi is the last shop selling these:
But she doesn’t make them, here they are on Amazon:
Reseller Holiday item from Suzi:
But she doesn’t make these, and she didn’t take the photo:
How about a gardening kit for those who like to grow their own 😉
But it’s another borrowed photo of a commercial product (is that why all items take 1-2 weeks — she’s drop shipping?)
page down for the herb garden kit.
These are listed as ‘vintage’ even though the description says they are new vintage style:
And here they are from a wholesaler with the same stock photo:

Those items have disappeared from her Etsy shop – nice work! The chalkboard message boards remain although we know she doesn’t make them. I’ve seen identical items with the identical stock photos elsewhere but can’t remember where – anyone?

  2. EtsyVigilante October 25, 2011 at 9:07 am #

Here’s her tagged “handmade” AND “vintage” chalkboard memo board at Terrain – and cheaper too. Same exact item. Same exact size. How do these people sleep at night?!

SuzisFarmhouseFind second account –SuziFarmhouseFinds (the s moved, otherwise the names are the same)– is now a buyer’s only account, but neither shop discloses the existence of the other.

All the items called out above have been disappeared, I would guess by ‘suzi’ herself, since she disappeared items before when called out. I will have to see if she opened a third account for the items that are missing from both shops.

  4. Life During Wartime October 25, 2011 at 10:41 am #

I was in the middle of linking to her ‘handmade’ wine crates, and all the items in the shop vanished.

  5. Discord Threads October 25, 2011 at 11:19 am #

Yup, looks like that one is gone, but as soon as one closes, they open another…At least Artfire moves them into a commercial area instead of wasting the money and resources to police the sight 24/7….

  6. Life During Wartime October 25, 2011 at 1:14 pm #

There is no place on Etsy, or Art Fire either, for resellers like ‘suzi’. Her shop had been reported many times over the last few months, and called out previously, so Etsy does not police the site at all. All the links I found in this callout were pretty easy to match to her shop from her copied photos. At this point, I really think Etsy owes me free listings for life for leading their staff to water and embarassing them into taking a drink.

There are a few shops on Etsy who do make their own furniture and decor items from wine barrels and crates. I don’t think Etsy has to provide an inexpensive hosting service for resale retailers when there are plenty of venues for ‘suzi’ out there in cyberspace.

  7. StuckUP October 25, 2011 at 1:36 pm #

The shop is still there, it’s just empty. It doesn’t take too long to find out that you have been called out. I’m just not into the conspiracy theory re: Etsy coaching. Hell, these guys aren’t stupid, just tasteless and desperate.

  8. sue October 25, 2011 at 1:53 pm #

I am really pleased that Etsy is doing something about these resellers. It is about time : )

  9. Monkey Pants October 25, 2011 at 3:35 pm #

You all are AWESOME! I love, love, love you shut them down. LOVE!

  10. DeadKittens October 26, 2011 at 3:59 am #

Etsy isn’t doing anything about resellers. She probably felt some heat, pulled back temporarily. If you look through the sellers called out on this blog through the years, you’ll see so many of them still open.

  11. EtsyVigilante October 26, 2011 at 4:28 am #

They’re baaaack ~ “Handmade” wine crates at SuzisFarmhouseFinds

Sorry Suzi. We will hunt you down and find you.

There is no place on Etsy, or Art Fire either, for resellers like ‘suzi’.

Artfire now has a commercial section where resellers are allowed. It was a controversial move, but Artfire runs on a Return on Investment business model, and they decided that shoving them into their own corner would be a better use of resources than trying to keep them out, which obviously Etsy fails to do.

As for fake vintage, liars and fraudsters shouldn’t be allowed anywhere.

  13. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 9:41 am #

Anon E. Mouse (love the name, I used to use it in college), I know about Art Fire’s new commercial section. In this situation, it’s a good thing for the other shops on AF that the site has a different demographic profile for customers. Being somewhat older, they are less easily fooled by the suzis out there on the net. As for vintage fakery, Suzi was listing a bunch of her wine crates with date stamps on them from the 21st Century as ‘vintage’ earlier, but I didn’t bother calling them out because that was so obviously fake. Of course, now she is listing them as handmade — or altered? — by her as housewares. Vintage on Monday, handmade on Wednesday…it looks like another Floppy Cow situation. Floppy aka BlessedInMaine aka Chickenwire Cloche Cween has left Etsy btw and returned to reselling on Ebay.

  14. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 9:44 am #

Here’s the fauxtique wine crate from the original Suzi shop that had its items disappeared by Etsy:
As of last week, see was selling wine crates as vintage 21st Century collector’s items.

  15. cynicallyopenminded October 26, 2011 at 10:25 am #

I read her listing descriptions and she is stating that she drills holes and varnishes them. Isn’t this Etsy legal? Open a jump ring, attach is like drilling a hole, varnish? What say you all?

  16. StuckUP October 26, 2011 at 11:01 am #

I say it’s usage of semantics, and can’t imagine being drawn in by a description like that.

  17. EtsyVigilante October 26, 2011 at 11:26 am #

@cynicallyopenminded. The crates she is tagging vintage in LDW link are not varnished and do not have holes in them AND are NOT vintage.

  18. PussDaddy October 26, 2011 at 11:57 am #

Older and wiser on artfire is just so much bullshit, IMHO. They sold themselves as a place for handmade just like Etsy did only to change track later and got their site up and running by offering free accounts which were also taken back. If Etsy lies, then Artfire is also guilty of lying and probably have even told bigger and better lies IMHO.

  19. PussDaddy October 26, 2011 at 12:09 pm #

Not to mention that the same fucking people that are on Etsy and every other handmade site are on Artfire too (only some of the names have been changed to protect the innocent and no so innocent), and from what I hear ArtFire isn’t exactly bursting with buyers of handmade despite having a “different demographic”. If attracting a demographic that wants to buy cheap factory made reseller crap is helpful to sellers of handmade, well all I can say is that is some reasoning. People can reason anything I guess to make it acceptable if their real agenda is to make something else appear not to be acceptable (and not accpetable for the same reason the other place is accpetable which makes no fucking sense at all IMHO).

  20. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 12:34 pm #

    Suzi number one is back.

    New listing for ‘handmade item’:
    Photo from here:
shows SF area seller’s tag and is not the same product ‘Suzi’ is selling — her item is the repurposed box and some seeds.

  21. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 12:44 pm #

Suzi the reopened reseller is listing wine crates that are unaltered as handmade here:
’empty in perfect condition’ — RESELLING, Etsy, that is what this is!!!
’empty in perfect conditon’ — not altered by seller, listed as handmade — RESELLING!!!

    Handmade Housewares

  22. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 12:48 pm #

More more more reseller items from Suzi:
Note comment in desciption that some crates may still have their paper tags attached when received by buyer and how to remove them — this item was NOT repuposed or altered in any way by the seller. This is a reseller item listed as ‘vintage’ — from 2006 as seen in the photos! Etsy, you f-ed up, and we see you!

  23. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 12:55 pm #

Single bottle size wine crate that Suzi lists as handmade by her:
From the description, this item has not been altered or repurposed in any way.
    This is handmade???

  24. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 12:57 pm #

Dang, she removed the wood nursery flats before I could link them to their wholesale source!

  25. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 1:18 pm #

The listings are being edited as I watch to add comments about how they are sealed. My callouts (awaiting moderation from ECO) show that items perviously listed as being ‘in perfect condition’, or still having stickers attached, have now been sealed and reinforced.

Still no photos in any listings of a reinforced crate.

  26. sickofetsyshit October 26, 2011 at 1:37 pm #

I call bullshit! she says: “RE Purposed With a water safe seal for gardening.” –

In no stretch of even the etsy cupcakes’ vapid, Stepford Wives “thinking” would this be considered handmade.

  27. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 1:45 pm #

Sickofetsyshit, I have a ton of comments awaiting moderation. She gave up editing the listings and just put that comment in her announcement. She has dropped the claim to reinforce the crates, I see.

  28. AssGasorGrass October 26, 2011 at 4:14 pm #

She’s clearly reading this. By telling people she handmakes these things when she does not, she is committing mail fraud. I am sure the USPS might be interested.

  29. Life During Wartime October 26, 2011 at 4:30 pm #

Heh, my comments are still invisible. She must be reading my mind because all the crates are gone, for now anyway.

  30. Trista October 27, 2011 at 11:09 am #

    Oh those familiar pictures….

  31. Life During Wartime October 27, 2011 at 11:56 am #

How can a pendant watch on a chain be a ‘handmade supply’? How can an Audrey Hepburn photo watch have ‘owl’ under materials? Even if Etsy cannot prove reselling — because they won’t bother trying — there are plenty of other violations that should close these shops. IMO

  32. LaneyL October 27, 2011 at 3:44 pm #

Look at this seller she does nothing to the crates!

How is this on Etsy? She says it right here new crates!

  33. GRRRRR October 27, 2011 at 5:34 pm #

look at this seller, look at the rings, there is no way she makes the big brass ones and its is available in only those select sizes. How nice!! I am tempted to write and see if she can resize it for me 🙂

  34. Etsyvigilante October 27, 2011 at 5:56 pm #

Good call-out, Laney. I reported all of her “handmade” wine crate listings.

  35. Jill October 27, 2011 at 8:15 pm #

There’s no way she makes anything! You need to Do a full callout on her

  36. Jill October 27, 2011 at 8:16 pm #

I emailer her no sizing haha yep she makes the rings! Good job grrrrr!

  37. Life During Wartime October 27, 2011 at 8:16 pm #

LaneyL, Shama is doing the same thing (nothing!) with the same crates that Suzi was. They are not handmade housewares!

  38. EtsyVigilante October 28, 2011 at 1:13 pm #

New reseller faux vintage – Marmaladeonetsy AKA Colin Gabriel

His “vintage” buoys available all over the place

And how ’bout those resin pigs?

  39. Etsyvigilante October 28, 2011 at 4:49 pm #

Suzi’s back Keep an eye on her.

  40. sickofetsyshit October 31, 2011 at 10:29 pm #

hey wow! I just posted what I thought was a link, but a picture is showing, COOL! 🙂

  41. sniffinsnifflins November 1, 2011 at 5:40 pm #

(copied the listing description below just in case it disappears)

This is by far the best item I’ve yet to see!
This is a large Wood Shipping Crate.
I did research and found it was from 1920! Still have the original shipping sticker on top!
    Size: 20 x 13 x 9
Still has the strap inside and the rope handles.
This is a great piece to have in your home!
Heave piece has that great vintage look!
    Over 100 years old!

  42. JulieB November 1, 2011 at 7:28 pm #

Actually that is a old crate. I’ve seen one like that before from the 20’s at a flea market.
    I think your confused

  43. OldPerson November 2, 2011 at 8:20 am #

I think that crate is old, too.

  44. Cheryl Currie November 9, 2011 at 10:17 pm #

Just flagged Suzi on… trying to sneak in there too.

  45. Julie November 10, 2011 at 12:26 pm #

I think you need to do your homework. Cargoh is not a handmade site. You can sell anything on there. It’s just Etsy that you can not sell mass produced.
