Azuraccessories

13 Feb

Nothing like a good old self call out. Azuraccessories posted links to items in her shop on Etsy’s Facebook page; too bad they’re all typical made in China pocket watches.

Here’s just a few examples from her shop, and links to where they can be found for wholesale. I’d post more, but we all know these kinds of shops are the exact same. This is sitting right under Etsy’s nose on their FB page (and the shop was reported too), but of course, that will probably do nothing.

I reported! This is crazy and not ethical. It does not comply with the code of conduct at all! Yuck!

Wow, so does the E-hole have a reseller section now. They might as well…

My guess is there are about 50 resellers active on Etsy right now selling this kind of jewelry, and not all of them mail from China. This is my favorite listing from Azuracessories:
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/86693102/bronze-leaf-necklace-pendant-gift-chain
The title and tags have nothing to do with the item, and the description says nothing. A standout shop, for sure, to be on Etsy’s FB page! I vote Krutipie for Etsy employee of the year for her amazing improvements to Etsy’s marketplace disgrace. Maybe the sellers on Etsy who design and assembly their own unique costume jewelry need to form a team to deal with this issue. Because flagging does not help.

Eek..ASSEMBLE, not assembly. I cannot type and think at the same time today. Spring fever.

The description for the Target hat says ‘new’ — a self-callout no brainer.

    I like this item:
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/89569990/vera-bradley-ipod-nano-case#
    ‘newer used’.

  6. Life During Wartime February 14, 2012 at 1:04 pm #

Damn, smack my fingers ‘never used’. I see a lot of newish stuff in that shop.

Ive seen a lot more people trying to pass off new as vintage lately and I can only assume that is was a new years resolution to clean out their closet. What I don’t get is why when they were listing it they didn’t think …” Hmm where is used? I see vintage and handmade..” like this store http://www.etsy.com/shop/pkhedgley or this one http://www.etsy.com/shop/backothecloset

there’s now a site that lets you see buyer feedback :=)

once again someone else comes through where etsy screws us over

Oh please! Dayuan Zhou, who runs Azuraccessories, is *far* too busy to create anything original — She also works as a fashion model, under the name Abbey Lee Kershaw.

    Compare Zhou’s profile icon with:

(About halfway down: girl leaning on piano.)

The avatar for Azuraccessories looks like a match to that photo to me.

Oh this is amazing! Etsy must be reading this blog as the same time as me, because I looked at Backofthecloset and it was there, and a second later, it was gone, turned into a three armed sweater.

And about Zhou, surprise! Chinese reseller shop with Anglo name and stolen profile photo. That just screams integrity.

Both the shops in Yellshe’s second callout comment are gone, but PickaDeal (the target hat seller) is still open.

  13. Yellshe February 15, 2012 at 11:26 am #

Give those a few days though I bet they will be back open with revised tags and or descriptions. But since it got them attention I will call out another item http://www.etsy.com/listing/74959114/stunning-vintage-cocktail-dress-karl

Now google search Karl and h&m you will find photos and most importantly the year 2004. I’m thinking people think buying it used makes it vintage… Not the same

    It worked! Wooowhoo

The lagerfield dress is still there
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/74959114/stunning-vintage-cocktail-dress-karl
but the other things are all gone.

Great call outs, but Etsy should have found these shops by doing bot searches for designer names, covering All Items. Instead, Etsy made couture brands a featured search in their curated promotions, which encourages sellers to list these items and gives shops selling them a boost in visibility. Is this an accident?

This is most likely fee avoidance – the picture maybe was changed, the the original listing was not. Or they just don’t have a clue.
