epocahermosa

2 Jul
I have been reporting epocahermosa for weeks, beginning shortly after the shop opened.  More than a month later, they are still on Etsy.  Seems to be a seller under the special protection of Etsy’s Marketplace Integrity Team.  When reporting a shop doesn’t work, the obvious next step is calling them out here.
This shop opened in May with Chinese factory assembled jewelry listed as Vintage or Vintage Supply — uh uh, it is new.
I took the trouble to report almost all the fake vintage items on this page, with documenting links to various wholesale merchants using the same photo for each item.  Not convincing to the MIT who seem to think an item being newly manufactured within the last 24 months — but listed as Vintage on Etsy — is not any kind of a contradiction.
Newer listings are still Chinese imports, but are listed as Handmade to order!
Description says “Condition New in box” but it’s listed as handmade to order by epocahermosa:
Actually mass made in a Chinese factory and can be ordered on AliExpress:
Jewelry assembled in Chinese factories but listed as Made To Order by epocahermosa and using stock photos from the manufacturers:
Note the AliExpress necklace has the same key shape dangle on the necklace extension as the ‘made to order’ piece from epocahermosa.
‘Made to order’ owl coin purses, with manufacturer’s hang tag visible in the stock photo.
How can an item made by this seller include no materials, no description of the item (package dimensions are given rather than item measurements) or photos showing the purse in detail?
Same item wholesale:
Same hang tag, and color match of owls with open and closed eyes between epocahermosa and wholesale source.
Another pretense at handmade to order:
Again, no details in the description about the ‘handmade’ item for sale, just some package dimension boilerplate text from the wholesale source.
Here is the same product from a wholesale source:
Wholesale merchant has more photos (including the one in the Etsy listing, and much more product info — such as the bird being a whistle.
One final callout of a listing for factory made jewelry, listed by epocahermosa as ‘handmade to order’:
Wholesale using the same photo:
Shop was reported over a month ago now, and is still open.
Edited to add:
Wow! She is also stealing The Black Apple’s Odd Fellow’s Orphanage images for lockets, which The Black Apple sells as limited editions. I own a couple of the real ones.

It’s strange that they only ship from Australia to Australia?????????

Nine sellers have that pumpkin necklace. The chains all look the same to me. Nice documentation!

No. Some Australians are like that, I can’t explain why except that I’ve run into more than a few that simply hate Americans and can offer no other excuse than we drag them into wars and that we are all fat and spoiled. I did report the shop and commented this… “This BLATANT RESELLER seems to be under your protection. It has been reported numerous times. At this point I have no other words to describe it but these: “Etsy Butt Gerbils” Why do you protect these shops? Why not simply change you r rules and have done with it and stop lying to the public?

Epocahermosa is not only a liar, but a thief too!

This is really disturbing! Makes me sick to see her stealing Miss Emily’s images (The Black Apple) for her cheap lockets! I’m the only one who Emily has commissioned to create all of her art lockets (Fancy Wearables) and to see this shop steal her images is just blatent theft!

Looks like the shop is closed down now

Pam’s flag must have done it, shop is gone!

PrettywithInkInvites is still there, still “invoicing” people for the remainder of their fees and listing her invites as “vintage” lol. Flag flag flag flag.

It’s more likely that a Chinese manufacturer has stolen the images from The Black Apple. epocahermosa was just a reseller. I’m impressed. ECO gets shops closed when reporting does nothing!

I agree with LDW. I think the images were stolen and epoc was a reseller. She probably has no clue who Black Apple is.

I flagged the whole shop last night as well as the locket listing, so I’m glad to see a fast response to it! But I do remember seeing those same lockets on Ebay somewhere so the resellers are alive and well 😦

Where the hell do these people come up with these awful shop names? Who would buy from someone with a God awful name like that? Sounds like a coughed up hairball.

This seller says all of her shoes are brand new. I think much of the rest of her stuff is too.

I reported on it yesterday, too. Today it is gone.

  15. TheBargainBabe July 3, 2012 at 6:28 pm #

    good catch beadediris.

“All of my shoes on ETSY are brand new!”— then all of your shoes are prohibited on etsy.

  16. admin July 3, 2012 at 7:27 pm #

but but but they.re listed under VINTAGE so it must be good with etsy

  17. BeardedIris July 5, 2012 at 5:41 am #

Wow. I searched for “bubble statement necklace”. http://www.etsy.com/search/handmade?q=bubble%20statement%20necklace&order=most_relevant&view_type=gallery&ship_to=ZZ

  18. sadpanda July 5, 2012 at 11:59 am #

ack! i just clicked on the bubble necklaces link. that’s just disgusting. check out seller himediy’s feedback where the buyers mention the necklaces take longer to arrive because they ship from china😛 1227 sales since may of this year. http://www.etsy.com/people/himediy/feedback?page=1

  19. Life During Wartime July 5, 2012 at 2:08 pm #

himediy has no Profile and no Policies. 1227 sales in 2 months? Obviously made by hand by the shop owner…not. I luv the FB comments about how himediy is cheapest. I don’t think what has happened to Etsy can be fixed at this point.

LDW, I think you are right. :(:

  21. Monica July 6, 2012 at 5:22 am #

    Reported. So obvious.

The main thing wrong with handmade is handmade sites IMHO.
